So a year or two ago when @italynstylion upgraded his Bilstein lift to Icons I bought the Bilstein lift for my sammich maker's Tacoma. Fast forward a few weeks and I finally got around to installing it today. lol It picked up about 1.5" of lift and rides a lot better than worn out shocks. I have more than a few of these swaps with other people; but some how this was the first time I did it on a rig with a sway bar still on. The brakes are good but I found a short list of other items that need to be addressed when I swap out the hub.

But for now I have a happy sammich maker because her tires do not rub anymore. Ordered a new hub for the passenger side wheel. Keeping the sammich maker happy....

*Ordered the hub from JerseyBuilt about a half hour ago and I already have confirmation it is in stock and tracking info. It should be here Wednesday. Looks like the Tacoma is getting a lot of love this week.
Don't hold your breath waiting on that hub from jerseybilt... He got shut down as a vendor on tardworld I thought for not meeting order times?

Well guess I will see. Fuck I hope not though.
I would double check on that but I'm pretty sure it's the same dude. Look at his vendor thread in tardworld.

Edit: just remembered you have a 2wd Tacoma. Nevermind, can't offer you one of my spare hubs.

And the turd didn't pack my 2 hubs enough, 2-3 studs were damaged, that was ~18 months ago, but you order one so they won't damage each other...

@Anathollo what is the place you are buying them from? I was buying from Bluepitbearings but they are a bit more $$ But they are awesome.

Thanks though. At the low rate of miles this Tacoma gets these will probably be the last hubs I ever put on it.

I did the driver's side a few months ago as budget allowed. But what do you do if the battery goes bad? There is only one.

Short on funds I can understand. :)

Technically; a battery doesn't need an alignment after replacing, and it's not a bilateral wear component directly related from mechanical wear from suspension or drivetrain.

A few months ago, you didn't get the other side rebuilt? says the person who has 2 that needs to rebuilt, lol

I too would like to know since I'm going to have to replace mine soon too I think. They are getting a bit noisy.

I'll be interested to see if Zech gets his. There were lots of people filing complaints with PayPal for that guy (assuming it is the same one). This guy out of Hawaii has pretty good reviews and seems to be sending them pretty quickly.

Wheel Bearings & Hubs *** 4x4 *** PreRunner *** $165 ea

He used to have an email address on there, but looks like he edited the post.

I have a press and "wha la" is not exactly the phrase for it. These parts are not "press till solid"; they require specific clearances and spacing. For the cost I am okay with ordering it from someone who knows what they are doing.

That's my feel as well. Gimme a finished part so I can pop it in and get rolling again. I'm really irritable when the Tacoma is down. Probably because it means I can't go biking.

I don't think it's that difficult job. I don't have the press, tools. Shops rebuild hubs all the time.

Time!! like everything else is the killer for me.

If the Tacoma was not my sammich makers DD I would be more likely to do it myself. But it is so I make sure to take care of it because it takes care of her. I have enough to worry about without worrying about her safety.

Well I added to my freedom list, something I may adventure into for tax free income.

My local NAPA had zero issues doing my hubs but that was before everyone started selling them complete. Hardest part was finding a local NAPA that still had a machine shop as 99% do not anymore it seems around here.

if anyone has any issues with the Jersey guy let me know or tell him I referred you. Might help. I know the guy and have wheeled/kayaked with him and his GF many times. Not what I would consider a friend, but a good acquaintance.

NAPA or that the guy was local to me ? Ant and I know him pretty well. He's a good guy but not trying to make a full time business out of selling hubs. By trade he is a mechanic for a local utility company and working a ton of hrs. By now he may actually be a lineman - pretty sure he was going in for testing last we spoke. Ive heard what he was doing and while waiting for hubs does suck I don't think he would blatantly rip people off.

Sorry I was typing that from my phone so I didn't elaborate. It was more that he wasn't able to meet the shipping times he told people and wasn't responding to emails. I didn't read about him ripping anyone off.
