Plenty of life left in those pads!
Did the brakes on one of my wife's employees. Toyota was going to charge her $650. Worn the fuck out, but prob original at 88k on the odometer. This spring clip set up is fucking tarded.

$650 for brakes lol it’s no wonder mechanics are probably the richest motherfuckers buying them fancy tool boxes. Those pads don’t look too bad, when I did my Honda Accord brakes a few months ago, I got my money out of the OEM pads. 6 years and 120k. I went with OEM pads again to say the least, they weren’t super expensive either, $80 for the front and rear pads.

yeah no shit. The backing plates were not attached on any on the pads, so they definitely needed changing. He'll I just charged her parts, $40 for the front and $40 for the rear from NAPA, I did it on my lunch break.
Feel good working on a Toyota again?
Again? Hell we have several (unfortunately) in my fleet so I'm constantly working on them.

Technically the Tacoma is still in my name - but like @Silverback; my sammich maker drives it more than I do. So tonight I put the center carrier bearing drop kit on it and took it for a test drive. The drive line vibrations are almost completely gone. It is impressive how much of a difference a $20 set of parts made. Tomorrow night some bright LED back up lights get here to help light up the space behind the Tacoma when in reverse.

Next she wants steps like my Schrockworks sliders with the dimple plates. Time to break out the welder.

LOL.. my Taco sits in the garage. I drive it on blue moons. Wife has her XC90. Good of you to let her drive yours though. I don't allow that shit. LOL

I let my wife drive my truck all she wants. If she wrecks it then I get to buy whatever I want, 100% GUILT FREE! :)

She has driven it but I don't want her too. She has totaled 2 vehicles in 3 years. Not happening on my watch. LOL

I don't drink and drive on public roads... well generally don't. Maybe a forest service road though. :)

Changed the oil in the girlfriend's Equinox. Easiest vehicle I've ever done an oil change on behind the 2nd gen Tacomas. And I still managed to dump 3qts of oil all over my driveway :facepalm:I need to get a bigger drain pan.

Sammich maker's Tacoma is a shameful Toyota today. After 304,000 miles the alternator went out. I have to travel tomorrow so I went with an O'reilly's alternator and belt for replacement. I have been meaning to replace the best since I bought it 201,000 miles ago; glad I finally got around to it. One perk is I went with the towing package alternator.

Oh I vaguely recall this... tell more.

Speaking of Royal P.. ya'll enjoying those free t-shirts they sent us?

Oh and my alternator went poof before 100k miles (towing package)... probably didn't help with all the accessories I have on the pig.

Same here. I replaced my vatozone alternator a couple of times before buying the Mechman alternator (not saying @tx_shooter should buy the mechman, especially on a truck with 300k miles).

I am really leaning towards getting my sammich maker into something else this year. Something with less years and a lot better mpg.

Drained the trans and pulled the pan off of my dads FZJ80 tonight. Going to let it drip over night and tomorrow after work I'm going to change the filter and pull the solenoids out to ohm test them. Pretty sure he's going to need a rebuild soon but we're trying new oil and filter and checking the solenoids before he spends the money for a rebuild.

Didn't know your dad had a FZJ80?! Nice!
