What have you done to your ride lately?

Just because they can doesn't necessarily mean they should. Why would you add binding/stress to them if its an easy fix to have them perform as designed?

I may not be totally correct but that's how I learned double eyelet shocks needed to be mounted.

They can handle it to a point.. With more flex comes more binding. I know they should be the other way.

At this point it would be easier for me to change the tabs on the axle. I'll just have to cut these off and modify them a bit, the upper mounts are not going anywhere. Wish I would of had this advise from the beginning.

I've heard some of the local buggy guys talk about it. You say with more flex comes more binding. These guys can run a tire 5 feet up a flex ramp so maybe it matters to them but not so much to our mere mortal vehicles.

yeah, the rubber will allow them to move to a point. But it is a limiting factor. Like you said, its easy to change the tabs on the axle.

Exactly, with a set of 47" leafs it might never bind... or maybe it will but not enough to notice. But when you are driving off the end of an RTI ramp then the little details matter.

Well, here is where I'm at so far. I still need to connect the beams from the side plates to the frame, cut a hole in the face for the 7 pin plug, and do a few finishing touches. Paint it then start on the front bumper.

Looking good! So did you build over the existing body panels without cutting? What thickness steel did you use? Nice work on the bends along the sides.

Will do once I get the kids to bed IF the memory card is salvageable. My camera got fucked up pretty bad, I think Keith got some pics on the ramp also.

Had a little run in with a tree, pulled the cover out and it looks like I should be able to POP it right out.

Between Rich #2 and Rich #3 in the pic

LOl.. yeah, but is that on the rear cab corner? It looks like a door handle above Rich #1's head.. but then Rich #4 looks like a window reflection.
