LOl.. yeah, but is that on the rear cab corner? It looks like a door handle above Rich #1's head.. but then Rich #4 looks like a window reflection.
At this point it would be easier for me to change the tabs on the axle. I'll just have to cut these off and modify them a bit, the upper mounts are not going anywhere. Wish I would of had this advise from the beginning.
Looking good! So did you build over the existing body panels without cutting? What thickness steel did you use? Nice work on the bends along the sides.
Either way. Keith's truck sure is shiny!

the chicks dig it.....Yep... just a bit too wide and too long..
Was it sitting on the bumps?
My welds where coming out a bit shitty......so I welded the FUCK out of them. I can get them off but it isn't going to be fun. O'well, live and learn right?
...just a bit too wide and too long...
Looks Bad Ass.
Don't do it man. There's no way having them perpendicular will be less stress with the shocks mounted at a 45 degree angle like
That's not the change that needs to be made. He needs to rotate the lower mounting tabs 90 degrees.
I think the angle of the shocks is irrelevant. The axle still moves forward and back the same amount.
Ian recently talked about it on Xtreme 4x4. I think it was either on the diesel buggy or the jeep with the atomic axles. He said the same thing about the top and bottom eyelets needing to be perpendicular.
Sag the axle, compress the axle, and sag just one side. Each time get under there and look at the bushings. If they're screaming for mercy, change it. If they're not, leave it alone.
Aside from a hair of knowledge and a bit of theory, I'm basically tapped out on this particular subject.
Well, that's mathematically and theoretically true but in reality, the only thing limiting shock travel is the length of its stroke and whether or not its mounted in a position to maximize that stroke.
Relative to the shock yes. Relative to rear's position with respect to the body, no.
removed my sway bar, drove around the neighborhood a bit before work, it rides so much smoother, almost floats.
Yeah, it's not that big of a deal with a long wheel baseremoved my sway bar, drove around the neighborhood a bit before work, it rides so much smoother, almost floats.
