I got this in tonight. I wanted to install it tonight but it's too damn cold and rainy.

Looks familiar. :) I am waiting in the OEM outers from Toyota of Dallas. Plan to install them this weekend.

Garage for sure. House is comfy. But I didn't put hvac in the garage so that was an oversite. :(. I'm out here now watching some tv, I just enjoy cold weather sometimes. It's pretty chilly, in the 40's. Not too bad. I haven't fired up the heater out here... yet.

Just curious because it is supposed to get chilly again next weekend and I was doubting that you would work in sub50 degree temps in the garage.

That's Mr Asshole to you
My garage is drafty and sitting about 45 degrees. Chunks of ice keep falling off from under it. Im sure Sean's is a little warmer than mine at the moment.

I have a heated side garage and still spent all my time in the non-heated garage today. It was not that bad since I was out of the wind.

Well if it's ultra shitty I'll postpone. But I think I can make it nice enough. But time will tell.

Sean's optimal work conditions is from 65°-75° lol

Exactly.. maybe even 68-71. AND.. the beer has to be close to 32. :)

But I did hang out in the garage last night and watch TV for 3 hours or so. Just sitting there and not moving around much, was warm enough.

That's what I'm doing in my garage right now. I'm waiting for the RTV to dry on my new CV boot.

So you RTV'd it obviously. :) Did you do both ends?

Hey Michael, so how long did it take to do them? Minus waiting for RTV to dry.

Also did the 22re thermostat bypass circuit mod last night (drill 2 holes in the T-stat). This is supposed to fix the rebounding temp issues:
Upon startup, the truck gets REALLY hot
then the t-stat opens and it cools, but too quickly
so the temp drops
then spikes again, but not quite as high as the first time.

Hmm.. thats odd. I never saw that with my 85 22re nor my 91 22re. Weird shit man. Sounds like you got it nailed though.

1 small hole, about 3/32" is all it took to keep mine at consistent temps.

It's a common problem. I think is has to do with the vastly increased cooling ability of modern aluminum radiators over the old brass ones.

Sweet. I put 2 small holes about that size.

I was dragging ass bc I didn't sleep well the night before and it was cold as balls outside. Took about 4 hours with 1 hour dry time. I was also piddling around with other stuff too.
