That is extremely tempting. I will have to see if I can swing that after Jambo.

Damn did it waste the clam shell too or just the add stub
A picture is worth 2000 dollars.
Read on FB that the housing is fucked
Impressive. RockJock going up front?
The words "Mechanical Empathy" come to mind. Did the spindle say in tact so that you could get home?
You really didn't need to cut that axle. On long trips I take an outboard end with me. I lost an axle at the begining of Dusy Ursham and just took the axle out. I drove all the way back to Morning Glory and probably another 5,000 miles. Then the wheel bearing finally popped out. I put another in and wondered why it only went a couple hundred feet before it failed. I can not for the life of me understand how and why my truck ran for a good 5500+ miles with NOTHING holding the bearing in (no axle or axle stub) that whole time. Like they say, It's better to be lucky than good!!!![]()
I would have just used the outer but I didn't have a spare outer only and when the add tube let loose a lot of the cv cups went flying too so it was pretty useless to me. Now I have an outer stub in case it happens again. I had just spent money on bee bearings a few months ago so i didn't want to risk toasting a brand new bearing. The only luck I have is bad luck so o have to think one step ahead haha. I wonder as well how you drove that distance with no bearing preload. That's impressive

Got my fridge slide mounted today. Went fairly smooth. Only hang up was that I didn't allow enough height so the "two stage" slide can only be extended to the first catch. Which is fine because it's more than enough to access the whole fridge. But I'll go back sometime in the future and add a spacer so that I can extend the slide the full length.

Sexy! Stack some fender washers underneath to get the clearance you need. Also, take into consideration a fully loaded fridge too when you add the spacer.
I figure I must have Brinelled that race so well that the hub wasn't going anywhere. See, 4-wheel sails really are good for the truck!![]()
