What have you done to your ride lately?

Today I made a mistake. I let my wife borrow the truck to help a friend of hers move. She let her friends husband drive it. I told her that I am going to have to take the truck out to some hard trails to show it who Daddy is.

Sounds like you need to let the wife know who daddy is... letting another man drive your truck. What was she thinking!? :)

I guess it's time to go over the rules with her. That's not even the worst part. He drives a Z71!

Guy sounds like a whore! Drivin' all those trucks and such!

New front brake pads and rotors. Painted the calipers while I had it apart.

What color did you paint them? Getting ready for the mall...jk

Did you get anything special or just stock replacement?

Stock replacement. The EBCs didn't last for shit and the slotted rotors had a bad vibration. The Tundra upgrade would have cost me damn near $500 in parts.

Nah, just black. They had some rust that you could see through the wheels, it was bothering me. A very little bling maybe, but after my 79 Scout project I HATE any kind of rust.

Sucks that the EBCs didn't work. What happened? Did they at least give you better braking while they lasted?

They stopped great, but they are just soft. The slotted rotors are known to ward a little from imperfections in the mounting surface, they recommend that you have them cut on the truck, but I had enough. Got some good rotors from autopartswarehouse and pads from Autozone. stops good and smooth now.

Took this thing out and shipped it to Chase. Looks like my visit to TakeOver in Big Bear has gone - Big Bust! :( My nephew will be visiting from USVI and I was hoping to take him wheeling. Oh well.

The only thing that we can imagine that may have happened was that there may have been a piece of shrapnel left in the tube some where! :( Remember I was racing in reverse for 10 miles after I blew my ring at hammers!

And I thought I was being soooo sanitary on the install! :o When I load my cannon this time, I will be cleaning those tubes like they are a barrel of a cannon that I will only get to fire one ball! - I hope this may help just one of you from making a mistake I may have made!!!

When it comes to engines, transmissions and rears - YOU CAN NEVER BE TOOOO CLEAN!!!

I make a pass with a large magnet through my diff housing to pick up any metal floating around in there about every time I pull it. I've never done the tubes before, but it's not a bad idea especially after you've had one explode.

When you replaced your diff after the hammers did you have a solid collar spacer installed to eliminate the crush sheve? those crush sleeves are know for failing when beaten on. Its the reason my last diff got toasted

I picked up a motor mount gusset kit that Solo Motorsports just came out with. We will install it when I pull the front diff to do the re-gear to 4.56s. I got the last 4.56 gear set that ECGS had. Even Nitro gears themselves dont have any 4.56s left. There is a 2 month back order so I was really lucky to get this one. My truck would have been 2wd for awhile and that is unsatisfactory.
