What have you done to your ride lately?

Yeah it is. I haven't had time to jack with it for a while. I did order the camera I had planned to use and an EZcap device to turn the analog video into USB for the tablet. Needed some time to figure it out but haven't gotten there yet. Working on getting stereo sound in the truck right now. Android 6 has a nasty little bug in it that makes the output from a USB DAC mono and not stereo. Very annoying for those of us using a tablet as the headunit. But I think I got a DAC that works correctly now. Working out some kinks but I have stereo sound again thanks to the sabre chip on the DAC.

I still want to get the front camera setup together. I think it will be very helpful on the trail as long as you can keep it clean!

Got a wild hair and figured out a place to mount my forward facing camera (headunit has 3 video inputs, front/rear/and AV in).. so this will go to the front obviously. Main concern was keeping it behind the bumper face.. but is tilted down just a bit and I can see right in front of the truck. Wiring for now is just loomed up and ready to pop through into the cab. Once I do the rear and other cameras I will wire them all up, this way I only have to pull the headunit once. I also need to get a large cresent wrench on that mount and tilt it a couple degrees.. it tilted on me during welding.. camera is pretty square but not perfect. A little tweak will fix it.

Had a brake line blow out on the way home. Cruised through an empty an empty intersection at 40mph with the pedal to the floor. I was really lucky to say the least. I was able to limp it home since I was nearly there. Crown brake lines are ordered. I'm going to replace all of my brake lines and flush the brake fluid at the same time.

Shoutout to @Silverback for his help on ordering the right length brake lines. Thanks again man!

I had that happen to me once before; lucky is the word. Thankfully I was driving a standard so I was able to work my way home but I got lucky nobody hit me on the I-5 in LA.

I had two Goodridge lines fail.. one I replaced before it completely failed and the other blew out. I got very lucky as well. I had just got back on a Sunday after wheeling and dropped the trail rig off at home and then took my trailer to the storage lot. I unhooked the trailer and pulled forward so I could lock the trailer up and it blew right then! A pair of vise grips zip tied to the UCA let me limp it to Vatozone where I just bought a cheap line. Replaced it with another Goodridge since it was under warranty. But I then switched to Crown and they are night and day... the crown lines are SOOO much beefier.

Yeah I've had the brakes go out on me in a standard before as well. This time I just shifted the truck into 4Hi and engine braked/pumped the pedal.

That's Mr Asshole to you
CROWN lines FTW! Its what I put in the rear of the runner and what I had on the Tacoma.

Here is a good comparison between the two, granted the Goodridge is a front line (spare) and the Crown is a rear but the Crown fronts are the same size. But you can see the difference between the two. Also, I have Crown airlines for my lockers F&R, the front one got up against the exhaust and it melted but it never leaked.. looked like hell. I replaced it anyhow, I was looking for it just now to see if I can get a photo but can't locate it... might have tossed it out. Also I may have posted a photo of it before though.

Thinking they are on my to-do list now. The rear brake lines are a little tight for my liking and I need to flush the brake fluid anyways.

Not sure why brake lines would be different??

Yeah; that makes no sense to me. I will email TRDParts4U to see if there is a connector difference or something.

Just look at Toyota of Dallas Parts.. input a 4R with your specs and see the brake lines and then one without and check its parts.

Yes; just noticed that. Why would the brake lines not be compatible?

VSC just has a rear setup that uses two brake lines rather than one. Was going to say if you didn't have VSC, I had a rear line from Wheelers you could have.

Really? Take a pic. I have two lines, one to the driver and one to the passenger side.
