What have you done to your ride lately?

Before changing gaskets, I would tighten each bolt 1/8 to 1/4 turn on a cold motor.
Good call. If I can get another couple of years out of these gaskets the truck will probably out last my time with it.
Tried that and it didn't work for me. The main problem is Toyota made the gaskets too small so it won't stop leaking until new gaskets and permatex is applied in the right spots (they STILL have to use permatex in certain areas).

I was pretty surprised that I did not even put 10,000 miles on it last year. I will be surprised if it get 10,000 miles this year even with the Death Valley trip. I am spending more and more time in rental cars right now. Plus I can work from home a couple days a week now when not traveling.
:shifty:

Rock Auto - Everytime I buy something from them, I pick up wipers - typically 2-3 dollars

Drained the coolant from rad and engine block (drivers side engine block petock suck balls to get to), installed a new URD 160 deg thermostat.

Used this awesome tool to tighten all the bolts, made the job a breeze compared to what it could have been.

Yeah my secondary shock blocks the drain hole on the driver's side for the coolant. I was like "fuck that" and just skipped it lol

At Firestone getting a shitty alignment. The guy ×as not happy when I told him I had just replaced everything on the front end and it was nowhere close to being aligned. I'm sure the alignment will suck but itll get me through while I tie up some loose ends and get somewhere for a real alignment. The one mile drive here was sketchy at best.

Ignore what's left of the bug shield. I was in a rush to get here before they closed. Need to order a new one.

It wasnt good at all. But it's much better now. Not perfect but its driveable. I'm gonna drive it for a bit and make sure I don't have to tear into the front end anymore. And once everything is good, I'll have a real shop dial it in more. Now, for my own memory, the list of what's left:

-Carrier bearing replacement (order new driveshaft bolts)
-Modify/paint/install skids
-Order new dust caps and hubcaps
-Drain and fill transmission (several times, 1k miles apart)
-Rear diff and transfer case fluid change
-New hood deflector
-New shocks
-Paintless dent repair
-Install fender flares
-Install fan shroud
-Build/install washer reservoir

I think that's it for short term. Once those are done, I can move on to the cool shit. The headunit and all the speakers need replaced. I'd love to get another camper shell for it. Would be nice if I could find one before my trip at the end of March. Would also like to do a seat swap. I've always hated the seats in this truck.
