New tire day. 295/70/17 Yokohama MT. Driven about 8 miles on them and so far so good. Little more noise but not bad, especially for a mud terrain.

Put the airbags on the company credit card? :)
Shit I should, only time I'm loaded down enough to need them I'm using it at work.

I did just order me a new F250 crew/SB 4x4 with the 7.3 godzilla motor for a shop truck though lol

Why are you using your truck to haul the transits equipment around?

Cause I need it done and we don't have a heavy enough truck. Which I why I just ordred one.

Ok that makes sense, that 7.3 is the new gasser?, is that a new Ford motor or based off the old diesel motor.

I am very happy with the airbags I put on the Tundra.

I've been real happy with the ones I have on ferd also, loaded up the trailer today, I need to add about 10psi more to level the truck out.

I appreciate your copious amount of straps to keep everything in check. :applaudit:

Had a productive day on the Tacoma today. I finished the GMRS install. Turns out the NMO I got from Midland wasn’t going to work so I ended up going to a shop in Lewisville to get the correct one...that sucked. But, I was able to get the radio all buttoned up and I’m quite pleased with it. There is a GMRS repeater in Rockwall that I think I might be able to hit from the driveway so that’ll be fun to play with once I get my callsign and the owner grants me permission to use it.

I also finally installed the extended SS brake line for the rear after it riding around on the floor of my back seat for the better part of a year. Got the brake system bled and then I repaired the broken wiring for the light bar on my bumper.

The new radiator is here, but I’m waiting for my thermostat to arrive before I tear into that job. My truck now has a unicorn horn, but it’s shorter than the FM antenna so I have a good “am I gonna rip off the GMRS antenna” gauge for when I’m running the ghost antenna. I do have the 6db whip antenna coming in the mail just cause I want to play with them and see if there’s actually a notable difference. My friends in Arkansas reported contact at 12 miles with roof mounded antennas. One had the ghost, one had the whip.

I am quite excited to get rid of the CB and no longer hear the whip antenna rattling around in the tie-down.

That is the perfect spot for the antenna according to all of the diagrams and HAM people I have talked to. Next trip we can do some distance testing.
