Thanks. It needs some tweaks starting with the hideous turn signals, but its a cool retro bike like my Triumph only more so.

Checking under my truck and noticed that the heat shields had corroded where the flange nuts hold them up. Used larger washers with RTV between the washer and the heat shield. I hadn't noticed a rattle but I am certain one was there rattling. :)

That heat shield rattle drove me nuts trying to find it for months. It sounded like something was about to fall off the truck.

Did you replace them? Take them off? Remount?

Very pleased with the local Ford dealer. I dropped it off at 10:30. Told the guy that I really need it back by Saturday.. early Monday at the latest. He said he would try but sometimes it takes a day or two for them to look at it. He called me at 2:30... oh great, no parts. Nope.. it's done! They replaced the steering stabilizer. I had told him I already ordered a Fox one and he said "Oh yeah, much better part". So it arrives Friday. Depending I'll either install it or take it with me and install at my dads shop.

Although the prices they had on the used SuperDuty's. Good lord. A 2020 blue platinum F350 long bed with 25k miles... $88k! A 19 Platinum with 97k miles, $72K. A 19 KR with 26k miles, $82k. Mine has 15k miles.

1100 miles @ 80-90 MPH and no death wobble. Still installing the Fox. Probably tomorrow.

She tops out at 96 mph. Did run many many miles at 95 or so. Got behind a couple cars today that pulled away from me and I was at 95. I have a new fuel filter(2 parts), new air filter and the steering stabilizer I am planning to replace tomorrow. Might swing by Ford dealer and grab oil and a filter while I am at it.

I cut off the rusted bolts and put new bolts on the heat shield. I figured if Toyota went through all that trouble of putting them there, there was a reason.

To keep your feet from cooking, I think that's right under the drivers/passenger floorboard.

I knew the brakes were bad on the 4runner when I bought it and used that to negotiate another $500 off the price. Turns out pads on the passenger side were gone and digging into the rotor.
Picked up the Power Stop kit from Summit and dove into it the other night. Turns out the sport model has bigger brakes, and of course the parts guy who looked up the parts failed to confirm the submodel. Get new parts and try again. Caliper pistons would not compress and the bleeder valve sheered off on both. So new calipers are located at O'Reilly.
All installed and it stops night and day difference.

Took off the heavy factory exhaust and swapped on a single sided S&S one. 26.5 lbs less weight.
