What have you done to your ride lately?

Well now knowing that, I got lucky as hell mine didn't leak when I replaced it with the diff bearing.

Yep they are definitely touchy. If they aren't leaking don't fuck with em, and be glad you got it sealed the first time :)

Knowing Tacoma's I would say that's probably always it. lol :( but I'm not sure that's it. I just replaced both sides ~25k miles ago.

I replace mine about the same interval I change the diff fluids (30k) so that sounds about right for them to go out. I believe the owners manual needs to add this periodic maintenace in lol

The bearings suck my truck was eating one every 10k or so.

Those front diff seals are a total pain in the dick. I think I replaced my passenger side one 3 or 4 times to get it to stop leaking. The key is to not press it too far into the diff or else it will just leak all day. Flush for the drivers side(-0.0177 to 0.0177 in.) and some weird ass # for the passenger stub tube seal (0.1890 to 0.2284 in). Numbers taken from the FSM.

Huh that must be why I never got mine to stop leaking

Figured out that my driver side King isn't bad after all. The noise I was hearing is the TC UCA bushings going out. The grease tunnels in them must be clogged and I pressurized them when I hit them with the grease gun 2 weeks back. Bulging now...

Today I finished bleeding the clutch master cylinder and started working on the "new" loss of power. I was able to remove the plug wires for 2 & 3 before it shut down. It is only running on 1 & 4 and "running" is generous. There is lots of gas smells so I am pretty sure it is getting fuel. The spark plug cables did arc when I put a screw driver in them and arced it off the valve cover. So I'll do a compression test tomorrow if I can get my hands on a test set.

Oil change on the Taco and oil change on the wife's cadillac... sucks to pay double the cost to change her cars oil..6+qts synthetic and a $21 paper filter.

Finally heard back from Javier on the status of the red truck. Bad oil pump and thermoelectric temp sensor. He said it runs like a champ now and starts up effortlessly.

Now I need to scrounge up 650 bucks. Glad I bought that shotgun before I got the tab on this :)

I finally finished installing new brakes on the '94 pickup. When I initially ordered pads and rotors, I didn't realize there was a difference between the one used on base and deluxe models. I ended up just upgrading the calipers to match the parts I had already bought. SO glad that pickup parts are pretty cheap.

Here's a pic with the new ball joints, ball joint spacer, and control arm brace I did a couple weeks ago:

Rebuild driverside CV axle last night, replaced a missing hose clamp on passenger side CV boot. Installed EBC rotors and pads. It was cold last night and I had a constant breeze from the bay. Walked into my house which was 69° and started sweating lol

I'm gonna need a new hood for my truck pretty soon. Found rust along the whole front edge the other day and it will be cheaper to just paint the whole thing.
