What have you done to your ride lately?

Just finished installing SAW torsion bars on my pickup to actually take advantage of the ball joint spacers I installed. Since the torsion bars are connected to the LCA, spacing the ball joint only adds down travel potential and not actual lift.

The tard who owned the truck before had the OEM torsion bars maxed out to try and match the height in the rear with AAL, but the UCAs were sitting on the bump stops and it still had a wicked redneck rake, lol

So you're saying there's a chance!
Custom build cross member or notch it.

Would the BFH mod not work?

On another note... Yesterday I ordered a set of Falken Rocky Mountains in 285/75-16. Hopefully Discount gets them in and I get them installed tomorrow. I've read good things, but will have a decent review of them after the K-Trail in Jan.

Have a cooling issue. I think it's the thermostat.

In the cold weather this morning I had started my truck to warm up. 20min later got in and the heat was near nonexistent. (*I had noticed the truck running a little warmer on the highway for the past 2 months) back to the story of today. --> When I got in the warmed up truck, scan gauge read mid 180's (normal), head down the road and get to the first stoplight and temp climbs up to 197 (184-186 was normal running temp). As soon as light turns green, get up to about 40mph, temp is now back down to 181 then climbs back up to about 188 as I'm traveling to the next stoplight. At the second stoplight, same story with the temp climb.

When I'm on the highway today, temp stayed high around 197-202 and thats the running temp with continued highway travel.

With in town driving the engine stays cooler with higher rpm's. for example, not running in overdrive. I can also keep temp down at a stoplight by shifting to neutral and revving to about 2500rpm.

Any ideas other than a thermostat?

I wish I could say this was a one time occurrence. Over the past couple months I have been paying close attention and it seems to be getting worse. It really made me think twice this morning when the heat didn't even work well.

I agree, I'll start there.

Coolant level is full. It has actually filled (and has kept full) the reservoir without spitting coolant from the overflow. Even if I use a turkey baster to transfer coolant from the reservoir back to the radiator it will just fill up the reservoir again and still not spit it out the overflow or leak anywhere else.

Not much; just installed a Roll n Lock cover for a long bed onto my short bed truck.

I spent some time Sunday repainting all the metal and figuring out how to do it. Once I received the needed length info from customer support I knocked it out. I have some adjustments to make to it this week; but for now it is installed.

Good deal

Appreciate the cover; so far it has been an interesting learning experience but I think once I get it all adjusted it will be great to have on my truck. You said the driver's side didn't pull snug for you and so far it is doing the same for me as well. I'll spend some more time trying to adjust the rails/box to see if I can get it figured out. Either way; as long as I can get it to lock and it covers the bed up I am happy.

Temps are looking good with the new thermostat.

I wish I had been keeping better track. I don't have a good base line to compare it to. It's kind of depressing to keep track with this truck.

Anybody got a better trick for seating a new spindle-side cv/bearing seal? Fucker is spinning with the cv...
