What have you done to your ride lately?

If that happens someone please shoot me and burn my corpse so it doesn't infect others.
lol
Replaced the TC UCA bushings on the Taco. Also started redoing the small ARB compressor and locker wiring. When I was doing the UCA bushing's I also pulled the battery and decided to do a little more with the wiring on it. Not done, but upgrading the ground wires and adding a couple more pieces of split loom on things.
Still hoping for that retirement culture design sac. We will never grow old if we keep wrenching and wheeling. :)
Just going there is punishment enough.

I drive up 2-3 times a month to visit clients and while I'm not a big fan of shitys seems the more time you spend in them the less I hate them. Thats how they get you.
That's the way I feel when I go to LA. What a frigging he'll hole.

Installed new BOSS lift from Toytec today along with Crown rear brake lines. The heavier rear springs were a super PITA since they were a little longer. Also the brake lines suck as well.
I thought I had taken a few more pics after the install but maybe I just focused instead of taking the pic. This is next to a stock 4runner. The ride is AMAZING! firmer than the Icon but still very nice.

Well fuck... rewiring all the lockers and small ARB compressor in the Taco. Old switched used 5 pins, new swanky ones use 4. Can't seem to make them work right. :( I get the lockers/compressor to run but not the lights in the switch. Time to call OOTATTW and see what they say. I'm sure I'm just overlooking something. Problem is ARB's wiring diagram is far lacking.. just hook this up here.. not telling what its doing.

Let me upload some pics.

Dude, Crown lines are the bomb!! If there was a problem it wasn't with the lines. I have had the Goodridge lines and they SUCK. Crown are far superior.

Besides, we talked.. you were supposed to road trip down here to install that lift and drink some Pearl Snap beer. :)

I remember but my schedule wont really let me get down anytime soon.
The crown lines are very nice. It was just getting the old lines off without rounding off the nuts(dont have a flare wrench). Also had to drop the spare to get enough room. Then I didnt have enough brake fluid so had to run to the parts store.

I had Goodridge lines explode after less than 2 years. Same time I have Crown lines for both brake and locker/air lines. I let an air line get too close to the header and melted it.. but guess what. Aside from the deformation it never leaked! That are without a doubt the best. Crown FTW!!

Finally got back from offshore a week ago and got some work done on 2.0.

Passenger side exhaust was a bitch. I tried to go under the oil pan and tie into the drivers side like I had on the old truck but couldn't make it work at full bump with the driveshaft. So my solution is to run 2.5" for each bank out the sides to dynomax race bullets. I'm betting it's going to be loud. Exhaust will be wrapped and the subframe will get some removable plating to protect everything.

Drivers side was much easier and is a straight shot out the back. No pics of that though.

Stripped it down so I could finish weld everything and get some paint on it. We had a hard freeze one night and then the temp went back up to the 70s. (Usual tx BS) which caused the bare metal to basically piss itself. Going to wire brush it and get some paint on it before it happens again.

The first time on its side. (probably wont be the last)

Prior to the weekend, i started to plate the frame joints (where possible). Some tube is in the way of plating it on both side of the joint, but one is better than none IMO. Cutting these out by hand sucks. im doing one side at a time, then will flip it back over and repeat.

Chassis is 99% welded. Need to give it a once over and see if I missed anything then I can start adding some additional bracing, plating, etc. Then I can move on to finish welding the axles.

Took my 81 into get inspected today. Mouth breather performing the inspection said it failed because the steering wheel was less than 14".. ok.. first time I've heard of this 14" rule and that steering wheel has been on the vehicle for 5 years or more. So I get back to the office and look it up. Fucking idiot.. there is no 14" and under regulation. Even the DPS has a setting for steering wheels 14 and under. Fuckhead.

New driveshaft is in. Finalizing the wiring of the lockers. Still need to tap into a 12v switched for the lighting. But I am fully locked f&r again. Baby steps. Will try and tackle the IFS skid tomorrow. How many times have I said that? Probably a lot. lol

Baby steps. Maybe April. March is pretty much booked. But I do need a shakedown run.

New bump stop spacers installed. These things are solid aluminum and beefy as hell.

What do you need to do on the IFS skid?

I pulled it down and lost the mounting hardware. I picked up an assortment of metric bolts so hopefully some of them work.

Maybe it's an Austin specific rule for any vehicle other than a Prius ;)

It will be getting some TLC sometime soon though, its leaking a little oil (seals dried out), so I'd like to pull the motor, redo all the seals/gaskets and then replace oil pump/timing chain/water pump, plug wires and do the GM one wire alternator.
