It doesn't look excessively tall to me, @tx_shooter whats the measurement (gap) between the roof & bottom of the RTT?

About 1.5" in the middle. Once I get it mounted I am going to work on a fairing.

The tent by itself is 11" tall. I removed the supplied extruded aluminum mounting bars and cut out one inch in height that way.

Sounds about right to me. I'm sure that in a strong wind you will notice the RTT but it won't be to bad.

Meh I enjoyed my time with the 4Runner. I lost a bit trading it in that I could have avoided by selling it but I don't regret it, though I'm sure Scott and Roger will be by soon to tell me all about why I made the worst decision of my life and that I'll never be able to retire now because I lost that money. I wanted a 4Runner since they first debuted the 5th gens and glad I finally got to own one. They're great vehicles it just wasn't fitting for me anymore.

I think it was a better decision than your first dumb decision to buy the new 4R to begin with, with the amount of mileage you travel to begin with, we all tried to warn ya.

Blake,

56% all Americans have only saved roughly $10,000 for retirement, and a lot of Baby Boomers are flat out broke just like the most Millennials.

When your 70yrs old and still working, I'm sure you will remind yourself about the bad decisions you made previously through out your life.

I get off the bus everyday for work with 5 or 6 ladies who should've retired a decade ago but have no money to do so.

Many of my coworkers make over 6 figures and should have retired 10yrs ago, they spend it faster than they receive it.

Two months ago I helped one coworker start his TSP/401K to get the 5% match for first time in his career, he has 36yrs of service and plans to retire fall of 2018, he plans on living off pension and SS, his house and 2 cars paid for and has saved almost 100k, horrible shape.

You ride a bus?

We met with our financial planner at the beginning of the month and we are on track 97% according to their software to retire and have the amount we wanted in the bank to do so.

Sucks for them. I'm at about 5 or 6 times that just in my 401k and IRA. Not to mention what I have in personal savings account for a house in a couple years. I appreciate the concern but I think I'll regret it more if I'm 70 years old and look back and say "damn I wish I had had more fun back when I was young and did more of what I wanted than what a bunch of strangers on the internet told me to do".

I should never bought my wife a 2011 Tahoe, but the wife wanted one, she is considering Lexus GX that is a couple years old to avoid the drive off price. I paid cash for that Tahoe and I bet I don't get half of what I put into it, maybe worth 23k, horrible resale value, she wanted a new Tahoe, lol about 60-70K, told her nope, not gonna happen, would rather buy a corvette at that price.

Yep, ride the metro in. Parking and traffic is atrocious where I work. The bus is only professionals so no riff Raff or general public. Drops me off & picks me up right at my doorstep. Most of the buses have USB & power outlets so it's actually pretty nice. I take a quick nap or read a book there and back. Saves me a ton of miles on the truck too.

I hear ya, you know most internet strangers recommend midget porn vs regular porn on any given day.

Look for a GX with the sport package. Gets rid of the nasty ass orange "wood grain" trim and replaced it with charcoal colored woodgrain inserts.
