What have you done to your ride lately?

You ride a bus?

We met with our financial planner at the beginning of the month and we are on track 97% according to their software to retire and have the amount we wanted in the bank to do so.

Getting closer to driving this thing after the work completed this weekend:
1. Gas pedal mounted to the doghouse. Used the stock pedal and swing and made a bracket.

2. Brakes are mounted. Got lucky that the wilwood residual valves and the brake lines run nicely through the fittings on the orbital. Braided SS lines are ran to all 4 corners. Just need to bleed them.

3. Wiring is 98% complete. Need to wire in the brake/tail lights once i have them mounted. The wires are ran to the back. Once i get my new light bar i'll wire that in as well. Looking for a ~40" single row to mount under the top lip of the cab. Rock lights from All4Offroad are on their way. Fixed a bad injector plug that cleared the CEL. Now its running on all 8 again. I have a little bit of cleanup to do but its pretty much done.

4. I thinking about mounting a set of these all4offroad toyota branded rock lights on the front fenders. They are bright as fuck. Ordered a set of 4 white ones to use on the underside.

5. Center console complete. Waiting on a RAM mount to come in to mount a table. Cup holders, USB power outlets, shifters are all in.

The to do list is getting shorter. Need to weld in mounts for the crotch belts, then i can get the seats and belts in. Once i bleed the brakes i can do a nut and bolt check and do a test drive. Then I can start on the finishing touches (bedsides, doors, paint, etc) Less than 3 weeks until its maiden voyage at the Jambo.

Damn leaking dust shield let water in from the looks of it. The shield was seized in place and the bearing grease was reddish. Otherwise I am glad to be alive.

Yeah, jacking up a truck with a cinder block on its side... it is good luck you are alive. At least put the cinder block in the center of itself or buy some jackstands. Who is gonna run this place when that cinder block explodes and drops that rig on you?

Shit. That was my 3rd line of defense from it dropping but I did not even realize I had the dang block like that. It is hard to see behind the floor jack; but there is also a jack stand back there.

As for who is going to run this place if I die - be careful what you ask about.

Alright, just don't want your wife to be a widow.. or you be in a wheelchair because a 4k lbs rig crushed their legs. :)

Edit.. I never trust a jack... even the high speed ones I bought.. and I am still hesitate on jack stands. call me paranoid but I'm probably due to die from some stupid shit because of what I have done in the past.

I'm surprised my rig hasn't fallen on me over the years . Someone will probably be looking for me one day and find me squashed like a bug.

I cut up a treated 4"x4" post leftover from a fence job into small sections to use for a jack stand base for situations just like this.

Looking good!! Man I can't wait to get mine!
It's about time. The absolute best accessory I ever picked up - the fridge is a very close second.

Spindle is at the dealership. Hopefully they get it knocked out by noon so I can try to get off work a few hours early to put my 4R back together. It feels weird driving my old Tacoma again. It sits so much lower than the 4Runner - which reminds me I need to install the lift on it I got from @italynstylion a little while ago.

Sorry; but I do not have the proper arbor plates to do the work myself right now. I am hoping to have the proper equipment to do the passenger side soon. I would rather pay them $200 for parts and labor than screw it up myself and have to spend $500 on a new spindle.

They finished the bearing job before noon. Of course it was more than expected but not horrible at $244 for parts and labor. Now to get it all bolted back together.

Could you not find a shop that was willing to do it? I paid $110 for parts and labor on mine. I could have given you a shop in Cleburne that would do the labor for $50.

I recently had a close call installing my coilovers. Floor jacks on wheels can be dangerous. At least I was somewhat ready for it and had my jackstands in place for a contingency plan.
