What have you done to your ride lately?

Well it's working well in the SxS world, people have RZRs with 35"+ tires without much failure. The problem is going to be heat and lack of assist. I don't care how good those little electric motors in the steering racks are, there is just no way they will outperform an engine driven hydraulic pump

Got the wheels on. Will look much better after new center caps, new lug nuts, and I finish getting off the PO's plastiderp.

Got my moneys worth out of the pads. Rotors are still looking good. Still gonna replace though.

Guy at my work is just trading in his SR5 2nd Gen Taco for a new Chevy Colorado this weekend. His Tacoma is his truck work gives him $$ to drive. Work is buying him a truck to drive so the boss can write it off. My boss didn't want to exceed 30k and my co-worker didn't want to buy a used Taco so Chevy was the only option. Ill let you know how it makes out being driven in Philly 95% of the time and taking a daily city beating.

Gasser or diesel?

Agreed, I think the stabilitrack and electric power steering will end up being very problematic once higher mileage sets in

I'm up to 72k on my 2014 accord that has electric power steering, so far everything still feels like new. But that may be apple and orange comparison being a front wheel drive light weight car vs. a 4x4 truck.

What's crazy to me is the price people pay for new Chevy's and the interior falls apart. I hopped in one of my subcontractors Chevy truck that's only a couple of years old and the buttons on the radio are scratched off, leather's cracked and interior looks like it's aged a decade already.
It's amazing what most all makers call leather. Oh yeah it's leather -much in the same way McNuggets are chicken.

I went and test drove Colorado's with a pretty famous car/truck guy. He's thinking about getting one. ...and if you knew his history you would be shocked. Famous in the Toyota world. The funny thing about the Colorado is the TINY CVs and those rock rails - connected to the body not the frame.

I will be driving our 98 accord today. Paint is shot but it's a GREAT car and the V6 is running strong and no tranny issues yet. Reminds me, need to change the fluids again.

I remember doing electric power steering tests for GM back in the early 80s. Amazing how long some of that takes to get to market. I guess the test a bit longer than All Poo. ...and still they fail.

I think the electric steering is the next evolution in getting better MPG as it takes one more drag point off the crank. The off set is it does had the need for a more powerful alternator but the gain is real. There is also the benefit of one less fluid to carry and possible leak. I am surprised that Toyota has not brought it to their truck and SUVs yet.

Gasser or diesel?

Gasssssssss. He got it Friday night. Already hating on it because it doesn't have a sliding rear window. Now he's pissed he needs to add a bedrack for long lengths of aluminum he needs to occasionally carry. I told him to STFU and man up - it's a truck and should have a bed rack. He wants it to be "nice" he said. I said - I have a rack on my car and you think a rack on a truck is to worklike? He needs to untuck and let them drop already. Just got a free brand new work truck to drive.

Bummer, I'm interested to see what those diesels are like. Maybe I'll take my ford up there and tell them I'm looking to trade it in and see if they let me test drive.

And man that guy sounds like a real pussy, a free work truck and he's worrying about the small amenities like sliding rear window and the auto tampon disposers, tell him to shut his dick sucker and enjoy a nice brand new free truck, and buy a bed rack for it :D

Unlike your or my truck - this one will actually be used. Fitting 12' length of metal in it is pretty important.

Luckily CRL already has a slider available for less than $300.

Lets see.. do I want a couple pieces of metal 12' long in my cab next to my head or up above strapped to the rack? No brainer... in the cab where I can get killed in the event of an accident. Sounds like a plan!!
