What have you done to your ride lately?

True. Even the floor plugs that pass through in the Tacoma's floor are barley sealed. Ive had water come up through the floor before and I didn't even notice it because if my Huskyliners. Once I got out and saw them floating I realized I had an issue lol.

I pulled every single plug and sealed them all. Another issue is the use of metal that's laminated. In the bottom (exterior) there are holes that do not push through the top layer of metal. These needed to be sealed from below. Took me days to seal it all up and I'm still not 100% sure I got it all.

All our Tacos have a big ass vent in the rear that's somewhat high. I'm not saying seal it hermetically, but if you remember my days of cleaning my swamped truck, Tacoma's are sealed like crap. Whole design of the gasket and it's placement is completely absurd for a truck that has a "Offroad" sticker on it from the factory. Ive never seen any newer international models like a Hilux, but I suspect they are different. No way Australians would stand for such crappy ability to fjord water.
The Aussies would burn them to the ground if they had our door seals in their Hilux's...

Knowing some of the Tacoma owners I have wheeled with on the trail, I am sure theirs were barley sealed too - not to mention hops!!! lol

Appears I blew out the inner boot on my drivers side RCV axle. Must have snagged it last weekend at the farm driving down to the creek on some mesquite. Anyhow, ordered a set of boots from RCV (damn things are darn near as much $$ as buying a spare axle.. no shit.. $46 a pop). Also ordered a new trail spare axle. The plan is to replace the axle with spare. Rebuild the axle in my "free time" and then redo it. I need to get the truck inspected before the end of the month so that is why I ordered the spare. So hopefully it warms up a smidge tomorrow so I can clean up the garage a bit and get it ready. I also ordered new UCA bolts (the long bastards) and I have new uniballs sitting here so once I get the CV rebuilt I'll be rebuilding the UCA's as well.

Edit... posting this here so I don't lose it. :)

Was having issues starting and the only way I could start the engine was by hooking jumper cables directly to the starter lead from the battery. I thought it was a starter solenoid issue, so I went to AutoZone and got a new one under warranty, threw it in and nothing was different. I put a charger on my battery and now it's starting fine. I probably wasted an afternoon swapping the starter when I could have just charged the battery, but oh well now I have a brand new one. I thought it was weird that the battery would crank the starter just fine with the cables hooked directly to it, but not just normally starting.

I was in town earlier and my truck felt like it wanted to robbed a Valero Gas station or something...

Eddie Murphy doesn't rob a Valero.

Finally washed mine (exterior not the interior). I think the last time I washed my truck was after the Moab trip lol

Same. Mine is in serious need of a waxing...

Any recommendations for window trim restoring kits? Mine are getting nasty and scrubbing them wasn't getting all the grime off.

Castrol Purple cleaner is pretty strong stuff. It will fuck up paint.

I use machine gun dampening oil, it's like liquid silicon

Replaced the oil cooler and new orings and gaskets on the tow pig. The 7.3s have a common leak area here when the orings get brittle. It looked like my truck sneezed out a negro when I started it out in the snow last week lol

Messiest job to date, had to drain oil and coolant and shit still comes out of the log as there's no direct way to drain the heat exchanger.
