What have you done to your ride lately?

From the pics you posted of the old steering arm stabilizer, the stabilizer kinda looks bent to me. Could just be the pics?

There's a good chance it could be, I had it off when I replaced the tie rod last year but only unbolted that side and left the frame end connected. I guess I should have inspected it closer back then lol

Finally got my ridiculously expensive crank bolt and got some good weather coming up this weekend. Time to finish up the timing belt/water pump and move on to the valve cover gaskets.

What did it cost? I remember when I put in those TC LCA's I bought all new bolts. Luckily Roger hooked me up with some discount prices... but dealer cost was RIDICULOUS!

Like $12. I ordered it online. Realistically it's not a bad price considering its use. But still... $12 for a bolt.

My LCA bolts added up to about $160 IIRC.. 4 bolts and 4 nuts.. $160! But like I said, Roger got me a good deal on them.

The daily beater hit 100k so I gave her some pampering. Patched a tire leak I found, rotated the tires, changed windshield wiper blades, changed the engine oil and filter, changed thr transmission fluid, and flushed the coolant system. Should be good for another 100k :)

Pretty gnarly slow leak you picked up.

Yeah I had been filling the tire up about once every 2 months for the last year so I knew there was a leak. I tried once to check it and never found it. Got tired of the light being on so decided to give a better search, that nail was so small basically a finishing nail buried deep below the tread. It was barely bubbling even with the soap test, glad to finally fix it though.

Well I have to tell on myself. I knew I needed to do an oil change; but not this badly. The 4Runner rolled over 311k miles yesterday coming home from Houston. I would have sworn I did an oil change in December; guess I did not.

Yeah - will kick my own ass over this later.

What kind of oil? Should have sent a sample to Blackstone

Always Mobil1 in my vehicles. It is running great still. The only issue I have had lately is that it was hard to start in Houston when I was getting ready to leave. One of the terminals was a little loose so I ended up cleaning and tightening them when I got home. No problems since. Knock on wood.

That's a long way to go but I wouldn't be too worried. These new synthetic motor oils can go way longer than most people run them. I was shocked that the oil change intervals on these newer 6.7 cummins are 15k...

My brother is a manager at an oil testing company here in Houston. I asked him one time to test some of my used oil and his response was "trust me, you don't want to know what's gonna burn out/fail first. Ignorance is bliss.". lol He tested one of his GMC trucks he had when he first started there and all it made him do was worry the whole time he owned it.

Radio issues. Mostly it's the random and somewhat constant freezing and rebooting of the radio that is pissing me off. I hate the way aftermarket radios look but may have to.
In the process of installing an update that I downloaded from the Toyota website to a thumb drive. Not hopeful this will work based on some posts online. Looks like this issue is across all models from Rav4, Highlanders, Avalon, and Land Crusier.
If this dont fix my issue I am leaning to the Alpine Halo.

Talk to the dealership? They flashed the HU in our 4Runner for free when it was still under warranty. Tell them it has been intermittent for a while and just started to get constant. They may hook you up.

Well after going out and starting my truck in a 27* windstorm this morning only to get in it 30min later and it’s still cold (6.7 powerstroke, cold air intake and 5” exhaust) cause my truck pushes all the heat out the tailpipe. I ordered a fast idle jumper for it. We have this feature on our diesel buses and Ford use to have it from the factory, not sure why they no longer do.

The older fords had an idle up wire you could tie to a switched 12 volts where the PTO input would connect into the ECM. I guess they've done away with that.

You don't have the 110V plug in for your oil pan heater?

Yeah you can, but it’s a lot of BS to do it. This deal does it by just plugging it in.

yeah I do, but I’m not running a damn cord across the yard just to forget I got it plugged in and drive off lol
