Knocked out some much needed service yesterday, oil, air and new sand blades.

Tore into the door to replace the lock actuator. Little bit of a PITA but not hard. Never done this kind of thing before so had some learning to do.

time for some sound deadening since you are in there or at least you know what needs to be removed to do it. amazing how it transforms your whole outlook on a truck. Doors used to sound cheap and tinny now shut with a substantial "thud". Also SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much quieter when driving at highway speeds.

This is moving way up on my list the more I drive my truck.

The panel comes off very easy and yes, sound deadening moved up my list after this.

I always heard people talking about it and just wrote it off as "meh...maybe someday...I bet it barley even works".

Soon as I did it I wanted to kick myself in the rear for not doing it sooner.

That said Ive had my Subaru 4 years and haven't modded anything but some light bulbs Afraid once I start messing with it Ill blink my eyes and have spent 10k on stupied crap I don't need ad that just slows it down more.

I plan to replace the body mount bushings in my Tacoma later this year. I have to tear all the back interior out if it to do so. Figure that'll be when I sound deaden it. The door panels and carpet are fairly easy to remove. But the rear jump seats and storage bin look like a pain in the ass. So I'll do that and the bushings all at once.

When you get to the rear the air inlet that allows the pressure to equalize in the cab - it also lets a ton of noise and dust in. I cut and put a sponge in it to stop some of the noise and most of the dust.

As much as I like my power fold away steps on the new ride. Need to see if that FORScan app will let you control them. Like when Alarm is set they are deployed. Alarm not set they operate as designed.

Just let my shop buy the computer version with a lifetime license ($50), and put it on my laptop.

Yeah...I have these on my truck already. They have a 12 month warranty. One of them has about 6 months and several thousand miles. I will update if/when one fails. It's a decent and relatively cheap option to have on hand.

edit: I have 15k on one the older of the 2. no issues yet.

@Silverback @Taco Loco you might want to pick up one of these off Amazon. Let's you open the rear seat on driver side with out having to reach behind the seat and try to pull the little lever. There is storage space behind mine, but y'all might have a speaker.
