When I bought mine I was looking for a used one... fuckers wanted not much less than new prices and had 20-30k miles on them.

Yeah the diesels are that way. I'm looking at half tons. I can save a good $7-10k on a truck with 40k miles. Definitely not going new.

Better save more than 7-10k on a used truck with 40k on them. Shit new 1/2 tons are 50k and up.

I saved about 15K on my Ram when I bout it with 13K on it. I know its a dodge but it fit my budget.

Dodge is acceptable if it has a Cummins. Just have to know that the rest of the truck is going to fall apart around the motor. I'd be looking for a Cummins if I had the budget. But I'm trying to find something I can put about 50% down on and I don't have $25k to throw down.

Dodge/Ram with Cummins is equivalent to shoving a gold nugget in a dog turd. Damn shame.

I'm looking at SD's, I had dealer offer me $26k (plus tax savings of $1,625 so really $27,625) for my 2015 F150 crew 4x4 @68kmiles, loaded out Lariat, and that's without the camper shell, bolt on sliders, bags, I told them I would remove.

My buddy just bought a 2021 F-350 Limited. $90k truck... its nice! Not a fan of the cream parts of the interior. He also just bought a 40' 5th wheel and will be living out of it for the next 2-3 years.

He wanted a Platinum but there was none to be found with the gears he wanted. He needed something soon though, his trailer will be ready in 3 weeks and he has to go pick it up.

With a 40' RV he better have gotten the 4.10 or 4.3 gears or he will regret it in the hill country or mountains, and they hardly put those gears in the nicer model trucks, most or 95% have the 3.3 to 3.55 gears in them.

Amazing how today's US trucks have become over glorified lifted sedans. Guess thats what happens when most truck owners never use them for actual "truck" uses. Always takes me back to 95% of 4x4's never being taken off-road. My 99 Exploder came with 410's stock and a remote tranny cooler.

Growing up my grandparents on one side toured North America (US/Canada/Mexico) in their Airstream. It was not a small one. They towed it with a couple doifferent Cadillac sedans over the years of their traveling. I remember being in my teens and my grandfather (A Cadillac/Chevy/GM guy for life) was explaining to me how Cadillac had forgotten its roots so he could no longer find one that could handle the load. He was forced into having to buy truck for the towing capabilities and was not happy with it or any of them that followed. He had Avalanches, 1500's and 2500's all by GM or Chevy and hated every one of them for their size, lack of luxury, and my grandmothers refusal to drive any of them lol

I have been snooping around some forums from Africa and Australia lately. The common opinion of American made 4x4 trucks is bad. Like embarrassing bad - pavement queens with front diffs is a common phrase.

When I took that first rifles only class, there was a couple of Aussie Ex-Commando guys there that were googly eyed over my Tacoma. Because in Australia, Tacoma's cost an insane amount. I was telling them the Tacoma's here were shit and I would give a kidney for one of their V8 Diesel Land Cruisers lol
