Mine are 2017. lol

almost 5 years to the date, that might be a new record for me, took me less time for RST to deliver me a crawl box to install it than it did to install these bushings :roflmao:

Oh I was WAY off... I didn't buy these until Oct 2019.. I haven't even had these 2 years yet. Plenty of time left to procrastinate the install :)

Snagged the outside part of the diff seal with the CV...think this will cause a leak or could I just put some RTV on it and call it good?

I thought that part of the seal was just for dust. Makes me think that a dollop of RTV would fix it up fine. I hate replacing diff seals...I've had them leak so often because I either install them too far in or not far enough.

Probably would be fine. I would replace it though.

Every seal has a recommended depth for install and they are listed in the FSM. Even driver and passenger side for the same seal like the CV will be different. I never understood where they came up with the measurements and why it will cause it to leak, so frustrating. With that said if the seal wasn’t leaking before I would put some sillycone on that gash and reinstall the CV and call it good.

My thoughts exactly. I have terrible luck with those seals and this one wasn’t leaking before.

If it leaks, I’ll let everybody know and y’all can say you told me so

Got the steering rack changed. Now I can’t get the front diff back installed by myself and the neighbors aren’t home to help me. Gonna try again tomorrow with my friend from work

It is not a war crime the first time.

Is it hitting when you try to roll it back in place? Use the stock jack to raise the transmission a little. It takes a half inch or so to clear.

I just can’t get the diff to balance on the jack, while raising it, while aligning it, while also keeping the CV axles out of the way. Better off waiting for help tomorrow.

Washed the Ferd.. gave it a wipe down with some Griots Garage 3in1 wax, ceramic coat. Came out pretty nice and it was fairly easy to do. I even took a page out of @tex 's book and gave it some tire shine.

Finished putting the Tundra back together today with some help. That was a pain in the ass! All done, now I just need to take it to the alignment shop tomorrow and have them put my steering wheel back in the middle like it should be 😂

My attempts at cleaning the front diff actuator and hoping it would work failed. The 4wd still isn’t engaging and it’s doing just what it was before. Transfer case engages and then nothing happens

Have you checked the detent yet?

Not yet. I gave it a quick glance earlier and didn’t find anything that looked like a detent. Been focusing on trying to get the alignment to be good enough to drive to the shop in the morning.
Checked it is not a wire issue? No shorts?
That’s coming soon. I need to figure out which of the 6 wires is the one that sends the signal to engage the front diff....that way I can figure out if it’s even sending a signal. If not, then I can suspect that detent switch on the transfer case

It’s all the way at the top part in parallel with the shift rails.
