Nothing. Just the bushings are screaming. I'm sure they're worn out. Non-greasable and a bigger pain in the ass to change the bushings than to just replace the whole arm. What did you smack it on?

I'll more than likely go OEM. I've been doing some looking into the Freedom Offroad ones also. They will accept OEM ball joints when I need to replace them down the line.Do NOT get the Dorman LCAs from AutoZone. The LBJ on them is only good for about 12 months.
In process of rebooting a CV axle. I'm to the point of hammering off the part that he references as the "tripod" in this video. I think they are also referred to as the roller head.
It comes off pretty easily for him, but is just deforming my brass. Thoughts / suggestions? (the snap ring has been removed)
I've got it in a vice just like he does in the video. Tried using an old flathead that has been deformed a little from previous use (softer than my dewalts) and that didn't get it either. I guess I'll hit it harder.
There was or is a 1998 regular cab 4x4, 3.4 v6 in California for sale. 148k miles and super clean.Let me know when you want to sell it.![]()
Are you talking about those 3 little rollers (orange circle in the pic)? If so, just take a ball peen hammer and smack them off. They are super hard steel so you won't hurt.So what I'm hearing about the CV is:

In the video, he takes the outer piece off. I'm stuck trying to get the roller head off (the other end). Though, at this point, I'm contemplating taking the outer piece apart instead.
@tex, what happened to keeping it stock?
Oh, and who bought the Camry?
