What have you done to your ride lately?

Looks like the Ford is going to become the vehicle I own for the shortest amount of time. Been chasing some vibrations the last few days. Took it to a transmission shop today finally and it needs a torque converter for $1500. But they said the fluid is so burnt and in such bad shape that it’s got 20-25k miles before it needs a complete rebuild to the tune of $5-6k.
Dude....you need to go see a shaman to get this bad juju off you lol

But damn that sucks. Just go order a new truck and be done with it.

Window vent visors. Not a big mod, but im hoping it helps with interior heat on some of these hot days.

New truck isn’t anywhere in the budget. Taking this back to the dealership tomorrow to let them deal with it under warranty. My dad is planning on selling his diesel next year and I want to buy it. So once they get this transmission issue fixed I’ll probably offload it and pick up a cheap beater to drive until I can buy his truck. Wish he would have told me he was going to sell it before I bought the Ford and I would have just stuck it out with the 4Runner until then.

The Volvo dealership we always use was sold to another owner who is now building a new dealership and their service pricing now reflects those changes as the maintenance cost I was quoted to service my S60 was atrocious (they've had fair pricing in the past).

They wanted $2k to replace the rear brake pads + rotors, upper engine mount and torque arm. Fucking insane. So I ordered the parts for $450 shipped and swapped them out myself in a few hours today with my nephew helping me.

Old upper engine mount.

New upper torsion arm installed. Took 3 minutes to swap out. The dealership wanted $375 to change this out.

Rear pads and rotors definitely needed to be replaced. From what I read online, Volvos use the rear brakes pretty heavily.

Volvo of Austin is a bunch of douchebags. We took her XC90 up to the dealer in Temple and it was awesome! SO MUCH better customer service.

I've had the same service advisor lady since 2014 and I was like wtf? But she couldn't say anything other than our warranties are through Volvo and we could go to any dealer for service. So I got the hint and we're going to try another dealer for now.

Finished gutting the engine bay of the red truck. Cleaned and degreased. Gutted the AC, heater core and blower motor assembly. So much room for activities now. Required the distribution block and relocated it on the inside of the firewall. Mounted the new engine harness switch panel and ECM. Need to drop the skid and replace the transmission mount I broke at Gilmer. Almost ready to stab the 2rz in place.

Pig, deer, or jogger? Also better the truck than the bike. The after picture would have not been as good for you.
Deer. Fucker jumped the fence bounced in the ditch and I caught it midair in the highway. Looked like it was running from something, but highway is lined with brush and trees so i couldn't see anything behind it. Had time to punch the brakes right before impact. Had cruise set at 70, probably dropped to 60-65 by the time I hit. Had a truck in the lane next to me passing me and a guy right behind riding my ass. Busted the ac cond but it was still blowing cold once I got to the shop lol

A aftermarket bumper is one "mod" I would like on the SD. Hit a deer and it could pay for itself real fast. The wife got hit in her drivers side rear wheel in her Infinit Q70L... totaled the car. Guy hit it in an F250 with a Ranchhand... scratched his license plate.

Yup, and the air bags could deploy if the sensor gets compresed enough.

When I had a SD, I had ranch hand bumpers, I hit a full size lab at 70+ mph, it ran out in front of me, didn't bother to hit the brakes or even have the chance too. It put a small dent on the front bumper, barely noticeable. I got an oil change that same day, the guys knew I killed something, some how blood got slapped up on the rear bumper as well.

Damn, is everything plastic except the tow hooks or what? I'm glad it hit the front vs going through your windshield at that speed.
That's all metal, rolled it right up. Caught it at just the right angle I guess cause it wedged up under grill and didn't even crack it but shattered tge grill suppor plastic

Well I decided to wipe down the interior of my 4Runner at 5am this morning. I also woke up to the sound of rain an realized I forgot to roll up my windows completely. The windows were only cracked open an inch or so but it was just enough to let a decent amount of moisture inside.
