Took the Taco Bell seat covers off my new office chair, opened up the cab over, and checked everything out. Added the extension hydraulic hoses to the grapple and got them secured.
Changed the oil, air filter, and spark plugs in the daily…up to 150k on the odo. Also changed the oil in my bike. Tomorrow I will change the oil in the kubota and replace the blades with my spare sharp set.
yes it's definitely well worth it, I think I picked up mine directly from Messick's for around $65 for the trio. Having a spare set already sharp makes swapping them less of a chore, I usually just swap them once a season, luckily my ground is flat and the blades stay decently sharp during the season.
Did the 1st, 10 hour service and inspection on the SS this morning, added a little bit torque to a few hydraulic lines, basically every bolt or line has to be inspected daily until machine hits 20 hours. Also I did the 10 hour service on the tractor. A couple more hours in the SS doing some miscellaneous stuff afterwards till temps hit a bit over 100 degrees here.
borrowed my buddies milwaukee impact to get the other bolt off. The adjustable coupler lock is on. I like the design and someone will have to work to get this off if they want it.
I guess my dad thinks he is on a bulldozer when it comes to stacking brush unto burn piles. These $250 crappy plastic grill pieces are important, they help kelp the plant material from being suck into the radiator. This was a pita to replace, about 32 small bolts/screws. Kubota should have made these in steal like the older models.
I have told my dad and a couple others, soon as the brush is close to the front of the tractor, release the load unto the piles.
I have noticed over the years, folks who spend a lot of time on computers/screens have crap for peripheral vision when I let them operate equipment.
So.... I am gonna need new tires for the 250 soon. Not really impressed with these Michelins. They rode fine but wore out pretty fast.. may or may not have to do with my right foot. Thinking about doing a 35" tire.. Toyo AT III's. 50k mile rating. Will probably need to do a "mod" to get them to fit up front... just a level kit. Nothing crazy. I mainly want it sitting level. Not sold yet, just bouncing ideas around in my head. I do like that it still fits in the garage.
I'm also looking at stock size KO2's. I have a nail very close to the shoulder on the drivers front tire and it's near the wear bars in terms of life left.
