What have you done to your ride lately?

Did the 50 hour oil change on the boat. Took the recommendation of a friend who works on these things all the time. the $250 oil change bucket made easy work. Damn sure better for that kind of money.

I had my 6yo help with almost every step. It was priceless time together.

Good Dad... I. made my daughter go out in the garage all the time. This last past Friday I had her in a welding hood getting in some practice. She needs more. lol.

My big trailer had these stake pocket tie downs on each corner but the one was missing the pin to hold it in, they were longer than a standard hitch pin so I got a new one on the zon

I also bought another set of 4 of them and I plan to keep them in a contractor bag to be able to add additional ones if needed and swap between my bigger and smaller trailer.

I bought this one after loaning out my spare pin. I like that you don't have to worry about the cotter pin with it.

that one is nice, do they come linger though? The stake pockets need about 3.5-4” pin. The kit with the new pockets I have came with drilled and cable secured cotter pins to avoid them being lost.
I'm not sure if it does. For regular truck hitches, I tested it in the new wider Tundra hitch and it clears that.

That's nice that those come with the retaining wire.

Lots to be said for going into the desert with a known good motor.
Forgot about that thing. Are you saying the motor is shot?

Yep. With what is thought to be 450,000 to 600,000 miles of use just cooking that engine bay just soaking during their broadcasting/waiting. The engine had a 5kV generator and the NBC staff used it like a teenager uses AC.Found a sweet motorhome donor with 18k on the clock.

Re-sealing, hoses, flushing the AC, new platinum plugs, new hoses, new injector seals, new main and front seal, new trans cooler, belt, thermostat and seal, upgraded OE harness for the 225 amp dual batt setup (it had lighter gauge alt, starter and ground), new condenser, new accumulator/rec dry, the correct bolts for a few things, including the exhaust studs, and a bunch of small shit that will make me feel confident when on our long excursions into remote areas.

As much as I thought I wanted to convert to 4x4, I am enjoying it in it's current form because it is very stealth. Even had a SWAT officer think that he had done multiple stake outs in MY VAN! lol

Looking into one of the intake ports. :)

~$4k for motor and trans from 2014. ... and realized that I know one of the chief mechanics at the Ferd dealership where this thing was 'serviced.' I'm hoping he can give me a definitive answer if this newer trans would work with a 2011 PCM - Kalifornia requires that the stock 2011 tune is still in place at the time of certifying the engine change. I miss AZ right now. lol

Diagnostic Scan Tool
Plug an OBD-II scanner into your car’s port to access stored data. Many tools reveal total engine hours, even if not visible on the dashboard. This is especially useful for diesel trucks and fleet vehicles.
