Yeah you do if your taking off the steering wheel. I helped take off my buddies F350 steering wheel and we used one there. Its a PITA taking it off

Really, I've never taken the one in my tacoma off but the ones on chevys come off pretty easily with a puller. Just be carefull pulling anything off with snap style clips cause if they break there isn't gonna be an easy way to put it all back together.

Yeah its not super hard, you've just got to be careful taking everything out. We also stopped and cleaned out 11 years worth of dirt, dust, and hair from the steering wheel.

No, I assume Jason broke his while replacing the rack, if you don't remove the steering wheel it will spin and break the clock spring

Put 5.4k miles on it on my trip home and back to NC. 3k of that was driving there and back, so I managed to drive 2400 miles just in Tx. Guess its about time to do an oil change for the second time this month.

I do want to get out here soon. We have a long weekend for the 4th but I think i'm going to hit up the outer banks with some friends. Was going to spend the weekend working on the 85, but seeing as I can't lift my left arm very high or use it for anything, that's not happening. Or maybe I'll try a one handed carburetor install, that might actually be doable...hmmmm

I felt better today, so I cleaned up the rust that i've been bleeding since I installed Dakars.

After I got it all cleaned up.

And I greased all the zerks on my driveshaft.

I got my sub in today. Installed it an hour later. New subs on the left.
