So the lock really just prevents a person from pressing in the button above it then? Its not clamping into the lid right?

No it prevents the button from being pressed which also prevents the top from being opened. Hence locking the console. It works really well. You have to press the button hard as crap to force it to open. It takes quite a bit of effort to open it when it is shut and locked.

Ya. Sorry it was kinda confusing the way I worded it. I'll try to get some other pics of the internal part of it and post those up. It might not be till this weekend cause my work schedule just changed. But those will be among them if I can remember to take them.

A tube front bumper huh? Cool. Are you going to put any plate in it like the old all pro hybrid? I always liked the styling of those. I look forward to seeing it on the truck!

I may have to mess with that center console lock idea too.

Let me know if you have any ?? about the console. And there will be a full plate in the center as a skid and to act as a mounting plate for the winch fairlead. I'm also building bracing inside it to mount at least a 10k winch but we will see what happens.

nice, I'm looking to do a tube front bumper as well with the idea of having the skid from the bumper flow into my skid below the engine. Like all one piece of plate that is attached to the bumper so their isn't really a bevel between the two pieces. Might make a smoother approach too

That is the plan and hopefully if it all works out I'm going to tie it in to full belly skids for the whole truck. Let me know if you want any other pics for your plans. I'm going to be working on it this week some more so I should be able to get some pics of it on the truck.
