Bear Grylls was never decent. LOL I did like Survivorman though. American Chopper.. I watched it for the train wrecks. I recall them building a bike and then hammering the battery into the custom painted battery box... it was never coming out!

I got sucked into all of them back in the day. From the crabbers to the gold miners and everything in between.

Then I realized how much BS there was. About the same time I realized the History channel was anything but.

Shame what happened to them. The guy who started it all off had good intentions. Then fortune/fame/hollyweird ruined it all.

but yea, I thought the same thing when I watched it for the first time.

I never looked into it but heard rumors his family fell apart so that kid being a douche to him could be warranted

I do find it interesting in the beginning documentary you see the kid as a toddler growing up on their property they were developing in the woods. Fast forward 12 years and he's a douche who has no primitive skillz... hows that possible if he grew up in the woods? Kid should be freaking tarzan by now

Next time I'm bored Ill do some research and see what the heck happened. He's releasing stuff on youtube so I'm guessing his copyrights finally allowed him to cash in on other streams with the same original content + some new content.

Based on his Covid video he no longer lives a subsistence lifestyle off grid with his family ..... thats for sure
