"tactical" group or just long range nuts? It seems like the 6.x calibers are dominating the long range competitions. I was talking with a couple shooters a while back. They admitted that the 6.x calibers are great for punching holes in paper; but when it comes to putting down a threat they still prefer a 30 cal.

Yeah you can't beat the flat shooting, high BC and low recoil in competitions.

Yeah they really need to design better hunting/penetrating ammo for the 6x platforms. I've used Hornady whitetail out of my 6.5Creedmore but my barrel doesn't like it. And I've read the same about others. I shot a couple of deer with my 6.5 using Prime 140GR and they still ran a 100+ yards which is unacceptable. It looked like the bullet just zipped right through them without expanding very well despite being a hollow point.
I've read some SF units are switching over to 6x platforms awhile back.

I'm liking Amazon allowing me to change my addy then send items to PA that would not be allowed to be sent to NJ by Amazon. I know I H8 Amazon, but when they have the best prices and I don't need to fill out FFL paperwork it's a win win. Totally legal as well, just skipping out on the paperwork NJ requires. I'm totally allowed to buy in PA and bring back to NJ without the paperwork - just can't buy in NJ without it.

What does amazon sell that would require FFL? I guess I've never searched for weapons on there yet

Nothing because I got it shipped to PA & they would simply deny the sale/refuse to ship it to NJ.

"If" they shipped it to NJ I would need a FFL. Since I had it shipped to PA I need no paperwork and can bring it home 100% legally. Try it with a BB/pellet pistol, get caught, and land your ass in jail for 5+ years. NJ residents can't bring pistols home they buy out of state easily....might not be able to at all - I'd have to look it up, but if it was easy I would of done so a decade ago when I got my XD.

NJ laws are so silly.

I'm not spending 30 minutes driving to a store to stand in line waiting 30 minutes (Least amount of time Ive waited for a background check) then have NJ keep all those records god knows where when I can push a few buttons and rifles magically appear at my place of work and no records are kept by NJ or PA. KISS - keep it simple stupied

Great choice! Bergara is basically making the bolt guns that the Remington 700 used to be.

I picked up a SLR mag extension for my G34. They just came out with it and it added +5 rounds so I can fit 22 rounds in this one mag. So this is my one Gucci Glawk pic/mag because I won't be buying anymore of the mag extensions. It is nicely made though!

Not yet but I fondled one at Cabelas yesterday. And it felt like a quality piece of hardware. Wasn't impressed at all by the Tikka I held either, felt very cheap.

6.5, one of the Vortex offerings. Either the Viper PST gen 2 or one of the new Razor models

meh I've made it this far so I'll consider it luck I guess I did not wait 30 minutes they just call it in it's less than 5 minutes tops if you are clear to buy. I went over to Cabela's in DE to buy some 9mm ammo last month and they did not even ask for anything but a drivers license, so I don't think getting ammo shipped to your house is illegal. I've got alot of friends in the police departments so if I do get busted I'm hoping they catch me a break

Really? Was it a T3X? The one my coworker bought is solid and the action is buttery smooth. The trigger is a little heavy but it's not bad, I could get used to it (I'm a trigger whore ).

FWIW ~ It's 100% illegal to buy a pistol outside of NJ then bring it back yourself so you must be mistaken.

No idea how we got on the topic of ammo, but if the store needs me to give you my license# then document it for a purchase of ammo - Ill stick to buying from states who do not require my purchases be recorded like NJ started doing 10+ years ago. At the end of the day Ill do whatever I can to avoid my name being on ANY documents related to guns because I value my freedom and I'm not blind to our Blue state's ability to change laws whenever the wind blows....like the mag capacity ban they just pulled off.
