I am going to shop between ECGS and Beartrax in Dallas. I know @italynstylion used Beartrax and has had a good experience with them.
You might want to crack that diff open first. There is a fairly reasonable chance the gears are fine and you just wasted the spiders. Despite only being 7.5" gears they are very strong and I just don't think you would be able to break them with that size tire, however I could easily see shock loading the spiders and destroying those

There was certainly some shock loading, you may be on to something.

I was bouncing a little bit with some good RPMs so it would not surprise me. The big issue is I do not want to fuck with this IFS axle again. I hate it.

@taco4x4rar is on the money. Busted out spider gear teeth. The bad axle is dropped and everything has been swapped over. I am going to pick up longer hoses for the diff breathers tomorrow and let the permatex sit over night. Tomorrow it goes back in.

It is also amazingly easy to remove an IFS axle if you unholy the transmission mount and raise it about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.

I am surprised myself. The CV got messed up and the spider gears ate it. Next time - less throttle.

Hard pass on that one. I am going to stick this clamshell to the side until I decide to lock it or sell it.

Yeah they aren't cheap but Baertrax does a GREAT job. Joey and his crew are awesome to deal with. My ARB setup is fantastic. I'm on 4.56 gears.

Pablo can do gears too. May be worth asking about when you go get your alignment.

Pablo will probably try to push you towards a Harrop e-locker locker for this, too. Not that that's a bad thing. :headbang:

Worth mentioning Pablo did the gears in my rear e-locker, and I'm several thousand miles in at this point with no problems.

Bummer. I've got a saying that makes me a semi-boring person to wheel with. As slow as possible, as fast as necessary.

I like that thinking.

In good news; the working axle is back in and the test drive went good. So the rig is back in action.

I think I'm gonna give the Harrop a shot when the time comes.

That's how I wheel... on occasion I would give the crawler some skinny pedal if I knew it was loose shot below me. But hey, I don't jump over fires so... :)

I can still watch that "video" in my head of you just jumping up out of your chair and then proceeding to attempt to jump over (most) of the rather large fire we made. LMAO

I put the sway bar back on tonight. The front end kind of dipped a bit more than I cared for when driving without the RTT on. I mentioned going back to Bridgeport this weekend to my sammich maker and I was informed that would not be happening. In 10 years she has only read me the riot act a few times and apparently breaking the spider gears on my DD got me the riot act to stay out of 4wd for a few months. Maybe weeks.

Wonder if she would understand if I went wheeling in 2wd with the locker engaged...
