Bingo! After both of my front coils lasting 9 months of easy use and chasing a noise in the front that I think I narrowed down to the bushings in the lower mount no being long enough the coil shaft would touch the mount on the LCA. Then seeing Mitt have issues with his coilovers, Steven having issues, and then seeing handful on the net I decided to ditch them.
The latest was when Mitt was over and we were swapping a rear shock that blew at 42K miles. Take off the old and bolted the bottom on only to see the shock is not long enough to get the threads through the upper mount without having to jack up the axle. Take off the new and compare it to the old. The shock body and overall length were 1/2" shorter on the new shock.
Turns out Icon only make a 27.5" shock now and say its fine and has the same travel and fluid as the 28".

F all that. Bad dimensions are a no go for me. That stuffs pretty critical for someone who's not just using it to crawl the mall. I spent days on my computer then days doing real life mock ups prior to installing my suspension. I'd be livid if what I got didn't match what the specs said. That's fraud IMO. I write specifications for architects and I know my ass would be grass if I lied about products.

That's true but I think a lot of ICON artists followers are those that bought them years ago before they went to crap. A lot of the issues I have with them are poor engineering, cheap parts and questionable business practices. Not something I would expect for what their suspension costs.ICON has a following that apparently doesn't mind. Also, to be clear, they all have their issues. Some isolated, some not so much. Personally I would love to have the 'perfect' setup but just can't justify it today.
