Putting together some route/ trail ideas for the trip before I start working on the KML file. This should give us a chance to shower at the ranger station at least every other day. Plus there are numerous trails we can hike off each route if we so choose.

Make note that the 12v plug only plugs into the charging base and not the actual radio but the battery last a good while.

Good catch. I have several of these radios (as many of you know as I loaned them out last trip :) ) I have two that have the adapter that allows the radio to plug directly into the 12v outlet. Its nice but it limits where you can go with the radio... like 3' of the 12v outlet only.

I will charge the radio over night for use the next day. They are great radios for expo and off road use though.

Yeah I think that is the best strategy. Its what I did with the one I was using.

I like how me and Zech are the ones who liked this post....a.k.a. the recipients of the loaned out radios.

Not firm, but I'm a limp "maybe".

Very limp now, not going to have the time, laundry fairy wants me to roll vacation over for her 20yr anniversary (I had a groom stunt double fill in for me) my only hope is that if I go to Alaska in the early part of December for work then I will have enough comp time.

Guessing she has been around you enough now to know what you look like and spot a stand-in? We will tell in inappropriate joke in your honor while we are out there.

I do not think I saw any BP vehicles last time I was down there. Pretty desolate in BBRSP; but I will have to remember to get you some extra security next time you travel. Maybe call DPS with an anonymous drug running tip.

As for trip info; I will be working on my gear/ tool list this week and putting it up here later this week for anyone that wants to use it as a starting point. We really should not need a lot of extra parts; think Ozarks with no trees.

In the past BP has used the stables at BBRSP as well, they have equine units out there as well.

Just ordered a set of 4 20L jerry cans from Deutsche Optik. Seems to be the best deal out there for quality fuel storage.

My to-do list for this trip:
1. Mount RTT on Prinsu rack. Will require changing the mounting bars on the base of the tent and a little creativity.
2. Fab up some roof rack mounts for the fuel cans so I can store them in front of the tent.
3. Wire up E-Locker
4. Install some 32" ATs (budget dependent).
