Make note that the 12v plug only plugs into the charging base and not the actual radio but the battery last a good while. For the 2M hand held this is the best radio combo for the money at $46. If you really want to boost the signal you can get a magnetic mount antenna for $10 - $35 depending on the base.

Good catch. I have several of these radios (as many of you know as I loaned them out last trip) I have two that have the adapter that allows the radio to plug directly into the 12v outlet. Its nice but it limits where you can go with the radio... like 3' of the 12v outlet only.
Not firm, but I'm a limp "maybe".
Very limp? Damn bro you are not that old!!
Guessing she has been around you enough now to know what you look like and spot a stand-in? We will tell in inappropriate joke in your honor while we are out there.
fair enough, cause I'll alert the border patrol while your down there for own surprise
I do not think I saw any BP vehicles last time I was down there. Pretty desolate in BBRSP; but I will have to remember to get you some extra security next time you travel. Maybe call DPS with an anonymous drug running tip.
As for trip info; I will be working on my gear/ tool list this week and putting it up here later this week for anyone that wants to use it as a starting point. We really should not need a lot of extra parts; think Ozarks with no trees.
