I missed the part where you were an asshole. I will reread it.

That was a disclaimer note, he always helps others, and would give his shirt off his back to any one, but some folks read too deep into his posts and become emotionally charged and defensive and that's where @TacoXpo becomes that toothless asshole we all known him to be. not, naught or knot?

My first backpacking trip was in the snow. I was about 11 or 12. I LOVED IT and it's a GREAT anchor that keeps me going out into the woods. Now I have snow shoes for the deeper stuff. - If you have substantial snow - snow caves are a great way to camp in the winter. Takes a lot of snow though. :)

Funny you should say that. I felt like a kid building a fort last weekend. Got down to about 15* last Saturday so I built a mini snow wall/shield around myself and my fire to save me from the crazy high winds we had. Spent a better part of 2hrs playing with it. It was the only snow left in my yard this morning when I woke up - rest had melted away.

The good/bad of living in a temperate climate with the influence of the gulf stream. Come on out and will hit the Sierras. :)

From the reports I have seen from you, you would have a great time. Check out Angus' videos for some samples of areas.

Welp....all my new gear does what it says it should and I was snug as a bug in a rug with temps down to 20*. My buddy's surplus bivvy came in and he was fine as well. Kayaking through ice thicker than 1/4" was a little rough and I had to end my trip early Sunday. Maybe one day Ill figure out videos on here ~ Pretty funny watching a kayaker try to go through ice.

Never been one to share my vids on youtube for privacy concerns and well, I'm a tech tard with zero patience for learning new tech systems. Ill screw around with fakebook tonight and see what happens.

Yeah, I'd have much bigger privacy concerns with Facebook than Youtube. With youtube, you can have public but unlisted videos, where you can show people the link, but no one can find it by searching for it/you.

Anything posted on fakebook becomes their property as well, never had an account with them

I need to look into the video part of uploads on here. I know the software will do it but I have not messed with it a whole lot.

I get fakebooks rules and that it's not "secure". I basically only use fakebook as a photobucket type account I dump pics into. Even if Youtubes more secure I just don't have the patience to even learn how to post pics here besides grabbing the url from fakebook and pasting it so I'm certain Ill never create a Youtube account and learn how to use it for video. I appreciate the guidance, but my guess is Ill keep from posting pics and vids like I have for the past few years. Think Ive posted 1 video in my lifetime and that was using photobucket a half decade ago. Most of you guys are the opposite of myself in regards to computers.

To me, spending time learning computer tech for social media is like listening to finger nails dragging across a chalkboard. If I didn't have to use a PC for work, I wouldn't. The least amount of tech in my life the better IMHO....well except for pron which besides research is the only reason I even have a personal computer. Some days I wouldn't mind going back in time to the days of no cell phones and pagers being the latest greatest tech. The more tech we get the more polarized and disconnected it seems we become. I know for myself that was the case, which is why this is the only forum I post in and I rarely even go on fakebook besides posting pics when my cell or camera gets full.

Got my camp shower "done"... needs a couple tweaks. 1st is the hose to get water out of the 5 gallon jerry can... it wants to curl up. So I think a 15" "straw" made from a 1/2" piece of PVC with a sort of QD on the end to allow me to store it easily. Second the Zodi pump s broken! Looks fine but its not working. Anyhow ordered a new one off Amazon (of course). The shower head hose is very stiff. As is the reinforced hose that feeds the pump. I hesitate to replace the feed line for fear the pump might suck it closed (doubtful but possible). But I would like to get something a little more flexible for the shower head. Over all it works fine. There is a weatherproof on/off switch mounted just below the clasp on the right side. The shower head has an on/off switch built in and it shuts down the pump when its off. The plan is to use the Zodi and just recycle water through the heater and back into the jerry can until its warm enough. Anyhow, pics.

Thanks. I think the wife and kiddo will appreciate it. The pump only does 1.2 GPM but I think that will work. I didn't want one that would drain the can in a minute or two. I think I'll have the wife break out her vinyl cutting machine and make a logo for the side. Thinking "Feel human in a can".
