Camping Gear Thread

I should contribute something to this thread. Couple months ago I ordered a Yeti Goal Zero 150 and a Nomad 20 solar panel. I haven't yet fully tested out either, but this past weekend on a short overnight camping trip I ran 2 small USB powered fans in the RTT and barely drained that 150. I'll be testing this further Black Friday weekend on the next scheduled camp trip.

I like how camping gear also doubles as hurricane supplies.

If I do the Ozarks again, it'll be less fire road driving and more camping and hiking. There was a lot of scenery out there we missed out on.

Agreed. After doing more research there is an incredible network of trails out there. That is one of the things I wanted to get up to Broken Bow to do - the camping and hiking around that area.

Exactly the tact I used to talk my sister into stocking some supplies for the family in the house. Now she get's me freeze dried meals at every B-day and Christmas lol

Our camping gear has come in handy more than a few times for power and light during power outages. We live just far enough out of town that if we have an outage it is usually 6-12 hours before we get power back.

I'll admit.. I can really relate to the photo below.. not the Jeep but but the over packing. This time I am "trying" to pack "light". Damn when you have as much shi... gear as I do its really hard to do that. LOL I picked up a Big Agnes Big Joe 80 liter waterproof duffel to hold sleeping bags/pads and maybe a pillow or two. Should make keeping that stuff dry and dust free nice, not having to put it in the cab or put it in my huge ass Pelican case which really takes up a lot of real-estate in the bed. Kitchen box is a smallish box from Roam Adventure. I've got a small single burner stove and the folding grill in it, along with enough cookware and eating ware for 2. Add some spices, some grill tools and a couple LED lanterns and I think its set. I also threw in a MSR water filter... just in case. Its pretty much packed and I can lift it easily.. heck the little one can probably carry it. First aid kit is not small, its in a Pelican 1500 case and I'm not making it smaller, it will ride on front passenger floorboard along with an ARB recovery bag so its easy to get to. I'll have the fridge in the backseat area and a 45 qt Pelican cooler in the bed along with a toolbox (not skimping on that or the spare unit bearing assembly and CV axle I will carry :) ). Will also take 15-20 gallons of gas, 10 on the tire carrier and 5-10 in Jerry cans in the bed. Last time we went I only took 5 and regretted not taking more.

Someone is amped about the upcoming camping trip. She had us setup the 2P tent in the living room today so she can sleep in it a few nights. LOL. She said no more pics until she has got it all setup. And yes she had BMX today and had not taken her gear off. Pay no attention to the TV. We took over the room from the wife and whatever channel she had it on is what it is. :). Now it’s on Disney.

She is set for the next few days. Even has a clothes hamper in it. LOL. I asked why none of her American Girl dolls are not in the tent and she said they didn't like camping. LOL

That she is.. she asked if we could take her bed out of her room and just put a tent in there. I said No. I also said that on Wednesday we needed to take the tent down, house keeper comes on Thursday and I don't want her charging me more for an extra room. LOL

Sorry we can't make it to big bend. But we should plan a family weekend at a state park sometime.

Big Bend Ranch is a state park though. I am wanting to go up to Broken Bow for a long weekend trip next spring to do some driving, hiking, and maybe some shooting at one of their long range public ranges up there.

I'll tow you up some trails... after you sign a liability release! lol
