No bear attacks... well that was uneventful.
The National Park Rangers are advising hikers in Glacier National Park and other Rocky Mountain parks to be alert for bears and take extra precautions to avoid an encounter.
They advise park visitors to wear little bells on their clothes so they make noise when hiking. The bell noise allows bears to hear them coming from a distance and not be startled by a hiker accidentally sneaking up on them. This might cause a bear to charge.
Visitors should also carry a pepper spray can just in case a bear is encountered. Spraying the pepper into the air will irritate the bear's sensitive nose and it will run away.
It is also a good idea to keep an eye out for fresh bear scat so you have an idea if bears are in the area. People should be able to recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear scat.
Black bear droppings are smaller and often contain berries, leaves, and possibly bits of fur. Grizzly bear droppings tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper.
HAHAHA.. Good thing about camping at state parks.... the morons typically get eaten first. Dude who got eaten last year was told there was a bear in the area and to disperse - he decided to track it down to take pics. Live/learn or not I guess.
No warning labels on wildlife really helps enforce Darwinism.

I personally think we should remove the warning signs and "thin the herd" a bit. If you are dumb enough to want to do something that may get you killed... go ahead. Don't let me stop you and thank you for not breeding.

Like camping in bear country? Don't worry - I'm not breeding. I'm all for posting signs for the animals, and remind them not eat on the trails or scenic areas.![]()

Having traveled Mexico for some time, I have had more than my 'fair share' of showers that were less hearty than a geriatric man with kidney stones, pissing on your back!1.2 GPM is plenty for a camp shower.
Ouch! That's fine by me. Student got mauled to death same place last year.
Last pic he took before getting eaten

I started my day walking neighborhood for listings. Then paperwork for a closing. Then picked up 10 bags of trash in our city. Then shopped for a few closing gifts. Delivered them and got my sign. Now, at 930 pm I am waiting at the base of the local mtns for my friend. By 1030 we should hit camp. Then it's fire (Almond wood) and some sleep. Tomorrow my first appointment is at 10 am. Good thing I have a gym membership and a client that digs the truck.View attachment 5357 camping in the backyard with the little one tonight. Pulled out the 2 man Nemo and fired up the fire pit. Added some of those chemicals that make the fire burn blue green and purple. She is digging it. Not the same as in the middle of the woods but getting her prepared. She was bored for a bit while we set up the tent. Ate some Mountain House chili mac and it was awesome. That made her and I happy. LOL.
Slept like a log. It was a little chilly but we stayed warm. It did start raining around 5AM. Stayed in the tent while she slept until 7 when she awoke. Then I made breakfast for us and next is to go bring the tent into the garage so it can dry out.
