Pretty slick.

I keep a large golf umbrella in my car for sitting in my camp chair in the rain. Prob always becomes holding it after a while gets tiring

I got a Garmin In Reach Mini for Christmas. I know some are not fond of the satellite subscription service. But for what I will do with it I think its perfect. For the few times a year that the truck goes out I think buying a service for a month is not a huge issue. Plus the ability to email and text from the middle of no-where is nice. Awaiting a short Ram arm so I can mount it to the A-pillar where I used to keep my Garmin Montana.

I've subscribed to the quarterly Cairn outdoor subscription box how for a couple years. I've gotten some good things and some bad things but almost always I get something that's cool that I wouldn't have spent money on intentionally. This is one of those items. An Ignik Firecan. I added some small lava rocks because they're needed. Pretty neat and quite packable. It's intended for when a fire is wanted and there's a fire ban. It's built solid, now just need to go somewhere where there's a fire ban....

How much is the quarterly subscription? That is a cool firebox. I like the shape, easily packable. I have a Little Red Campfire that is nice, but it's round and a bit of a pain to find a place for.

$250. This quarter I got that fire can, the BrukTrek Ovrlndr coffee press, 3 coffee mixes and some winter gloves. The gloves are meh...they are made for snow.

The more comms the better.

Just watched this breakdown yesterday.

Everytime a epirb is set off I read or watch about it. Better to learn from others when it comes to life/death mistakes

If I was going out someplace like that, I would have multiple devices.

Signed up with Garmin. Did a couple test messages, very quick. I signed up for the middle of the road freedom plan, $35 a month.. but as soon as I signed up I then suspended it. So when I need it I will just resume it.

You just need to get to more remote areas and use that Reach to message your boss that you have the variant that makes you hate people who don't think like people wheel. 🙂🙋‍♂️🎅🎁👍🌲🤪

I know whose freedom they are seeking with that plan. They forgot the word Finacial in front of Freedom. 🤪

Mounted.. I think I will need to run a new USB cable to it. I have an adapter to convert USB mini to micro but it sticks out a bit. Afraid I might break it.

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed hearing my SC whine in the desert last week. :)
