And know this, if I was to do this all over - and I may - I may just reinforce and weld a consumable plate where the cracks propagated from and call it good and have less unsprung weight. :) ...plus about $500-800 bucks in my pocket. :)

too late for me - already drank the cool aid

That looks so very familiar!!
But they're lighter than the ones I have. I like those more and they are safer than the first gens.

:roflmao:

Ill will need them. Labels gone from weather, but based on pics my 3 and 6 tons are recalled and all 4 are under the Tacoma now. Figures the POS craftsman stands that came free with a junk jack are still "safe" yet Ive never used them cuase they are thin

Just load the Subi up with cinder blocks from Home Despot, replace HF stands with blocks, load stands into Subi and then go do a driveby at midnight and toss those HF stands through the front window. Consider them "returned". Do not tell police where you got the idea. I am a terrible alibi. lol

I think I remember the guy in the red truck. Didn't he use his winch to pull his vehicle back onto all 4 tires?
Yes but hydrolocked his motor and I have no idea why I helped to arrange him getting a similar deal as Dyob.

I remember thinking he was a billy bad ass for doing the self recovery using his winch and a pully to putt the truck back onto the wheels. Would have been epic if he drove on like nothing happened.

In hindsight, he's a F'in moron for going solo and doing a trail that was beyond his ability.

Meh..... Trailblazers who succeed are honored. Ones who fail are chastised and criticized. Hindsight is always 20/20, but sometimes you just gotta take the risk.

Ive almost flopped my Taco a few times solo.

Not that I'd want to use it, but I keep this with me on my solo adventures. Sometimes the added risk is worth not having the moment ruined by having the wrong person with you lol

Best product Ive purchased under $300 if it works if I ever need to use it

ok, good to know. I was wondering how they fail. I'll go check mine later today to see how much metal is on that latch.

So now we all know, whats a good brand jackstand? I like the pin style recommended earlier just to keep it simple stupied w/less moving parts

Going to need to replace my 3 tons and 6 tons at some point.

They're not the pin-style but it seems one of the favorite USA made stands is the US Jack ones.

States "manufactured in the US"... that would tell me it was made here not simply assembled. This site indicates that 96% of the parts in the floor jack are made in the US. I would bet a simple jack stand is 100%.
