Just interviewed a millennial.
His resume doesn't match what he has on his Fakebook, but that's not a huge deal. All of my info on fakebook is in fact fake as well. Tonight Ill do a deep dive and vet his resume properly. Wanted to meet him first before I wasted my time if he was a bum. I don;t really care all that much about resumes unless they are fake - then I hammer them.
What set off the red flags for me is his amount of time at jobs. 10 months, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months and 15 months are his work history and that averages 7.2 months per job. Kids also taken more time off between jobs at 24 years old than Ive had vacations over my entire career.
I told the boss if he hires him I want no parts of it or his training. Told him we need to hire pro's - and that me and our other PM have no time to hand hold assistants and train them up for years until they can walk on their own. No way I'm teaching anyone my trade secrets so they can compete against me next month when this guy flops to another spot. I thought I bounced around allot having 7 different jobs over 22 years but this guys resume makes mine look good. He's had 5 over 4 years![]()
Shit, that's changed to every two-three years now. Work at a job to get the title, stay for awhile, look for a new job to get a promotion and a raise. Then repeat the cycle all over again...Depending on the region, the average career minded white collar folks, the job hop is about every 7-9yrs.

WTF? I should've gone to high school in NJ then.I just found out our local is hurting for apprentices so bad they changed the school system around and now I lose two of my apprentices from 2/3 - 5/12.
Historically they worked during the day so they could get paid and had school two nights a week that was "free" but they were not paid to attend.
Now I lose them for months while they attend school daily and get paid to do so. They get paid to go to school and graduate with a bachelors degree in construction management and multiple welding certs. + OSHA and all the other fun certs.
Just reached out to the hall to see if I can work them at night after school or if that would be double dipping and frowned upon.

Everybody hates on millennials (myself included) but you gotta remember who raised them...

A lot of this ^^^^^
There are too many parents who would not let someone be hard on their kid. It has come back as crappy work ethics and no will to succeed.
