I checked with my friend who shoots around there a bit; it is a different range.

Looking for a secure quick disconnect scope mount for the AR style rail system on the 6.5 Creedmoor. I found these and don't really know if they're good. Anyone have any recommendations? QD Scope Mounts

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it. Just learned my friend gets a good deal on Vortex stuff...Are their QD mounts any good?

Supposedly LaRues are guaranteed to hold zero I believe.
Don't get a QD mount for a 6.5 AR scope. You'll never use it... Trust me. It's like the backup iron sights deal on all the AR forums.
Just save your money and get a good set of Seekins rings (vortex rings are just rebranded seekins rings)

Excellent, known to be the best in the industry, and their not cheap, mine are matched with Zeiss scopes.
I nevered owned/used vortex scopes, I've heard some models are great while others are about 2 grades above bushnell.
I only ran into a problem one time, when scope was not lapped correctly when installing it/after zero'd in..

Well the plan is to have a thermal scope for night, but one for daytime use also.
Beat use for a QD setup. We had two scopes setup like that over seas - Leuoplod IV and a thermal.

That's the only good use for it to me. My dad is wanting to pick up a thermal scope before politics makes it hard/too expensive to get them.

I see too many guys buy QD mounts and never use em, myself included But I'd look into getting a thermal scope that attaches to the front of your daylight rifle scope.
