Read through the Vortex manual a couple of times and absorb what they are telling you. Also zero at 100 yards (unless the manual specifies otherwise. Usually applies to scopes with a bullet drop reticle or you have a red dot).
Bring a note pad out with you and shoot your rifle at different ranges (150, 200, 250, etc...yards) with the bullet your barrel likes the best. Write your holds down and keep it with the rifle. I promise you, you won't remember the holds in thee months so having it written down is vital.

Also what caliber is your AR? 6.5 Grendel?

We always kept our drop dope printed up real small and taped inside the flip cap. Never lost it and always easy to find when the chips were down.

6.5 Creedmoor. I can't wait to get it out and see what it'll do.

@MatthewMay1 Which scope is that? Looks very nice.
Vortex PST Gen II 5x25x50. Also got a Vortex Razor LH and that thing is super lightweight. It'll be going on a Browning X-Bolt 6.5 Creedmoor

Ahh ok. Very nice! I'd try shooting lighter grain bullets like a 129gr or a 120gr. I shoot 129gr Hornady Superformance out of my 6.5 Creedmoor Ruger RPR. My barrel loves that bullet.

Looking forward to the results. Next time I am in Houston we need to get some range time going.
Yeah I am too. I've shot an older version of this barrel and was really impressed with it.
And yeah we definitely need to go to the range!
