Just Guns

What? The law tactical folder is just a component. As long as he doesn't put a VFG on it and continues to use the pistol brace then it's still a pistol.

Ok that makes sense then.

You had me researching the laws again to see if there was something I'd missed in the past few months. lol

The ATF did just release a clarification letter a few months ago stating that if you had a folding stock then you had to measure from the end of the barrel to the folding stock. However, this mainly applies to MP5's or piston driven guns that don't require a buffer to operate. This was in response to so many people asking them questions about how to measure those types of guns so they could put VFG's on them. Dumbasses. Don't contact the ATF! Do your research first!

From what Ive seen & read you "can" actually buy the same brace and install it illegally "if" your intent is to use it as a stock and NOT as an arm brace (what it was designed for).

From what Ive see & read it is all about "intent" and your "wording" so watch what you say or if you want to be really safe don't say anything.

I need to stay more current on all that, I would hate to get stopped by the game warden for an under/over sized fish that wasn’t legal to have.

Well good luck on the courts proving that I intended to use the pistol brace as a stock.

You'll have more issues with regular police officers not knowing the NFA law's then anything else. You'll just need to explain it to them or take a ride downtown and then talk to their supervisor or fight it in court.

A year or so ago, the ATF got their cheeks clapped in court bc they didn't measure a pistol AR correctly! The ATF didn't even know/lied about their own guidelines on how to measure a rifle/pistol length! Insane...

and 2 years after that video, open carry became legal in Texas.
The tale of two states! I hope the douchebags don't turn Tejas into CA.

You guys need a "Don't California Texas" type program with bumper stickers and grass roots efforts.

reminiscent of the "Don't Jersey Vermont" campaign Vermont has had for decades when blue staters from here were taking over their area

welp - even with the influx of blue staters TX still doesn't have any city's on the top of the "your city's going to explode with sprawl" list so thats good. When you start seeing huge increases in construction workers - time to move and move quick

technically isn't TX a republic and not a true state by definition?
I believe Texas reserved the right to secede when it became a state. It was it's on republic beforehand, so you may be right.
