Tape a few phone books together and get a hard pointed pellet.... you'll be amazed how deep they can go.
Best part of pure lead pellets at supersonic speeds is that if they impact anything hard like glass they fragment so much it's hard to ever even find the slug....Don't ask where I learned that.

I was out front doing yard work a few months back when they tried to put one on my doorstep. I told them not to litter in my yard and keep on going down the street. From what I saw the books were a fraction of the size they once were.

What do you need with those axles and transfer case anyways? If I take them to my place you have less to trip on.

Yeah I hate that it shows them too. I always have to have a cleaning rag when I take it to the range. I don't think I would have gotten one in stainless but I got a great deal right before the Fort Worth gun show a few years back.

Just carry it in your front pocket. As for the caliber; I carry a 380 in the summer when I cannot dress to conceal my XDm. As long as the ammo is quality hollow point rounds and you are within 7 yds you are fine. If you go off the FBI stats theory of CHL use the mere display of a firearm stops most encounters. From there most encounters do not go past a few shots fired so caliber and magazine capacity are almost moot points. I say almost because like everyone who carries; I carry for the exception to the numbers not the average. When multi-person encounters were starting to become common in DFW I reevaluated my Sig 220 w/ 6 rounds and moved to an XDm with 9 (plus two 13 rd mags in the driver's door pocket). If you are still concerned about the caliber selection have you checked out the Springfield XDs? You can get it in 9, 40, or 45 and it is comparable in size to the Sig 238.
