IDK how much more panic we need to see before the trends are telling. We literally just took a few blocks of a major US city from commie terrorists and finding any kind of .223/556 round was next to impossible last night. My dumb ass just bought ammo for a gun I don't even own so I guess I'd be a FUD. Same reason I got my Ar was so no one could tell me I couldn't so that's a fear buy as well.....fear of losing the right. I never checked .40s&w or .38 because I got more then enough of those rounds. Got less than 2k in .223 so I was looking to stock up a little more. 9mm is on my list of pistols but not living here - gotta move before I do that so I can enjoy more than 10 round mags lol

Some states are closer than others, and I think this is the closest we have been - at least in my lifetime. That said, I haven't had to pull my gun out for any reason. Ammo is still on the shelves, I still have electricity, and the grocery stores are still full. As much as everyone has lost their ever-loving minds, we are still operating as a "normal" society. I was talking about if society had truly broken down and we were in a legitimate state of "fend for yourself". In that scenario, people aren't going to work and are having to do things that they normally wouldn't to stay alive.

In a perfect world I would learn reloading but that will never happen unless I retire some day. Thats something I'm smart enough to know to stay WAY far away from until I gain a TON more knowledge and even then I would be weary. I'd prob get a black powder rifle before learning reloading lol

I had no idea ammo was so hard to get right now. Bounced around to a few website last night and was amazed. I paid attention to what ammo was left and I saw a good deal of .308, 6.5mm, and 7.62 so that got me thinking. Along with a ton of 12ga waterfoul/bird shot. Being the backwards guy I am I got a few hundred rounds of 12ga & some more 223/556. Now I just need to get a shotgun lol

BTW - tried to see what would happen if I put .22lr into my cart and just as always because they are a known pistol round I can't ship them to my house. Gotta FFL them. That got me wondering how long it is before they do the same to me for .223 now that pistols are available in that caliber. F NJ. Glad I have a "ship to" address in PA for my dumb law go around.
Just don't buy anymore Hornady Frontier .223 ammo lol

lol Yea, at least it was cheap. I checked my lot #'s and supposedly it's safe *fingers crossed*

I already put it in a sealed bag with a moisture absorber inthe bag then back in the ammo can for long term "don't shoot this crap unless it's last resort" storage :BangHead:

Think I did load a few mags of it just in case the ELD doesn't shoot good in the rifle. The unknown of having a never fired rifle or what food it likes. Now Ill have two more options but they are frangible

I wouldn't shoot that through my JP until I was out of everything else and it was the end of the world lol

It's not all that hard. Just don't go off a single reference source for charges. I have the Hornady reload manual that came with the "kit" that I bought. There are also online resources that give max/min powder charges. I will check at least 2 before doing anything because the data does change from year to year. It shouldn't, but it does.

Thats the plan. I do not want to blow that thing up after 8+ weeks waiting for it

Also makes me wonder about lake city as a whole. All that bad ammo came out of that armory

I think last count I have three books and I still reference a lot of powder companies online info too.

Put hands on my buddies STI Staccato XC and his Sig 320 X5 Legion... DAMN! Never have I felt a slide that was that easy. He said his 88 year old grandma can rack the slide on the STI. I have no doubt. But damn, that Legion Sig was the shit as well.. its amazing. For the money I'd go Sig all day long. The $4300 price tag for the STI just seems a bit much.

LMAO - willing to jump all those hurdles then it is a great gun for you. I like Sig but their pistols have gone to crap. They need to go back to the 220 series and learn what reliability is again.
