Currently we have ours in the garage along the wall. I am looking to put it on top of some shelves that stick out a little bit.

A RTT isn't the better option with a family of 4 that likes to camp. If I can take a couple trips a year with my son or daughter to offbeat destinations it'll be worth it. My next consideration is where to store the tent when it's not mounted. It won't be mounted 365 days if I'm using it for a couple trips a year.

Thats sucks... everything I have from them for the past few years has been great, but I have all cast iron and one of their huge 60,000 btu stand up grills. I like it so much I stopped using my Weber.

Write them a "nice" e-mail/letter and I bet they take care of it. They have great customer service.

I have a Primus and some 50,000 but stove. I usually use the Primus 2 burner unless it's the winter and going with the boys. They I take that 50k btu unit.

Pretty sure it's all those fancy gadgets is why you need to carry a trailer to haul more gadgets that don't fit on the truck.

I like that word Booshi. LOL

I probably need to have a "garage sale" and sell some of the gear I have used once or never. Sad to say but there is a lot of it.

Right now, mine sits on a little trailer I've got laying around, but once I get rid of that, I'm planning on making a little rolling A-frame (with one vertical side) to store the tent on wheels so it can be moved out of the way.

That is an idea I like. Put it on wheels and store it on it's side out of the way. I will have to see what I can come up with for that option.

I'm not sure how this is going to pan out for me. I'm hoping to have a new job before this. If I do I won't be able to get the time off. Contemplated waiting until after the trip to apply for the new position but the time is right now and making this career move is a lot more important than this trip. A little nervous about such a big move but fuck it, gotta do it sometime.

Go for it man!! You can't be a fluffer all your life. ;)

When you get the job just tell them you have a commitment during the trip time and they "should" give you time off. That's been my experience.

Just tell them you are in a wedding out of town and already have plane tickets and all that.

Looking over the first post., is there an agenda? Really looking for a start time and location. I understand the rest is play by feel. I mean, we are about 4 months out.

No agenda.. just do it. Since I have not done it I cannot comment on how far we will go per day. @tex would know more than I.

I'll have to check again.. but I believe the plan for me anyhow was to leave here Thursday morning and meet up with @tx_shooter and camp at a National Park on the south side of where we planned to meet. Get up and get a shower and meet up with the group around 10AM on Friday. Now the meetup place and the National Park are things I'll have to get details on. But we plan to head out Friday morning.

You are right.. I need to update it to be a little more vague. ;) My bad. But I'll discuss with @tex and @tx_shooter and then update it with some more details.

My plan is to roll out whenever Silverback is rolling through the DFW area (or somewhere relatively close) and tag along behind him.

Yeah, I forgot you did this as well. Sorry... but point is... I'm looking to those 3 guys to provide some details as to how we will roll and from where. I'm just getting this ball rolling. :b1:

I think I can tag along with Blake so the 3 of us can caravan up there on Thursday.
Last time we camped 3 nights and that could be shorter since that stupid tree took 3 hours to cut out of the road.
I am determined to camp in the same spot along Indian Creek and I think Dare Mine road. I did catch a few small mouth bass out of the creek so bring your fishing pole if you want to fish. light tackle or ultra light will work. A small crank bait caught them for me but things like a beetle spin, rooster tail or small spoons would probable work as well.
Most of the trail can be done in 2 days and then head out late the 2nd day and make it a few hours towards home.
