When camping in crowds we just use a 5 gal bucket and a instant shower to keep them concealed.

I say you keep the honey buckets with the people who have 4runners lol

Really though some sawdust goes a long way in helping the honey bucket situation. Ive got some nice cedar sawdust left over from a project that will take some of the stench and fluidity away pretty good.

The reliant Double Dooty bags are what we will use... or a cat hole.

Never heard of them until now. They look pretty cool.

I never bring bags & typically cat hole it if there aren't poo pits, but being a single guy thats pretty easy to do.

No Oct can take its time getting here. I have too much crap to do. I think we are taking off Thursday - Tuesday. Might even head north Wednesday after work and find someplace to stay "nearish" Dallas. Not sure yet.

Dallas area folks... IF I was to leave here Wednesday after work what would be a good place to camp up in that area? Don't really want to hotel it with the truck all loaded out.. at the same time if the wife isn't getting home until 6:30 PM it will make for a late night. Flip-side is that if I leave Thursday morning its a 9+ hour drive to Long Pool Rec area, pulling a trailer and navigating I35 traffic is NOT something I am looking forward to... plus I am not setting any land speed records. Just came back from Fort Smith area and at 90MPH in the wifes ride it was a long trip... I am gonna hate it at 65 mph in the truck pulling the trailer. lol I'm thinking of getting a jump on the journey.. might have to just suck it up and leave at 4AM and "hopefully" be on the north side of Dallas before morning commuters plug up the highway. Thoughts?

If you cannot get to the other side of Dallas to camp I would not do it. If you leave Thursday morning in Austin at 5 or 6a you will be getting to Dallas right behind morning rush hour and just before the work/service driver rush. @italynstylion can provide more input on this though as he lives in the area. I had planned to just leave early Thursday morning but I will be able to run 75 mph so I could catch up with you pretty quick.

Any good spots on the north side to camp? I'm not seeing any... might just have to leave at O' dark thirty.

Stay at my house if you want. Arlington close to 20.
Another choice is Ray Roberts state park but that is closer to 35w and out of the way.

Looks like there are some camping options on Lake Lavon.
Also Cedar Hill state park on Joe Pool is not bad but it's on the south side of the metroplex

Only place north of the metroplex I know is pretty far out of your way. I'll see what I can find though.

What about some of the hotels that have covered/locked parking garages? Would that be an option?

Last month we drove from our neck of the woods to Wickes, AR. Cossatot River State Park, it's very remote. 9hr drive with gas stops and meals.
