It's a 2.5 hour drive for me to Martin Creek. I'll aim to be there at 9-9:30. If I get behind for whatever reason, I shouldn't have any problem catching up. I know Sean wont be hauling as with that trailer lol.

Looks like I should be rolling in between 10:30 and 11p that night depending on when my sammich maker gets home from school. I will stay in touch to know where to camp when we get there. Will take a shower the next morning before taking off for the trip.

Is there not a closer camp site with showers to St. Joe? It's 1h 45m to St Joe. Seems like we could camp some where a little closer to St Joe or to the Oark General store if we want to start there.

The Tyler Bend Visitor Center is open year-round and has interesting exhibits on the history of flora and fauna in the Buffalo National River area. It's the primary visitor center for the region and provides several educational programs in the auditorium. The campground has 10 walk-in and 28 drive-in sites available, plus a day-use pavilion and five group sites.

Nearby Attractions:
The Buffalo River Trail is accessible from the Collier trailhead parking area. This trail joins the Ozark Highlands Trail at Woolum, 14 miles upstream from Tyler Bend.

I just called and talked to a lady at the Tyler Bend park and they have a restroom with hot showers.

Just staying there a night so not overly concerned about the quality of camping. Just so long as we are not circling the rigs at a truck stop and keeping the women and kids in the middle for safety.

Camping options:
Long Pool(near Dover) is 1 hour 45 min from the trail head in St Joe.
Tyler Bend Campground is 6 miles from St Joe. Reservations can be made at Tyler Bend for a group site. Its $3 a person with a 10 person minimum.
I would rater do Tyler Bend since its so close to where we will start. I would rather cover some miles on Friday morning before stopping for lunch instead of eating lunch as we air down about to hit the trail.
