Mine had a nice layer of dirt, leaves, and pine needles on it. I had to vacuum out the air box bef ore putting the new filter in.
You need to do the snorkel tractor mod. It catches most of the dust before it goes into the filter.Forgot to post this.
Maybe 2 tanks of gas, and the AR trip,
replaced air filter at Atlanta State Park before the 7hr drive home. There was a lot of sand and bugs in that filter.View attachment 7496

Works really well. Catches an insane amount of dirt. I think @thekidcatcher is running his full time now. I just run mine when I'm offroad.Snorkel tractor mod? I'm probably picking up a pre-filter for my snork before my next big wheeling trip
I'm sure it has another name. I'm terrible with names, must've fallen off the swing a few times too many as a kidHadn't heard it referred to as that. But it makes sense to do so.

Normally just called a prefilter AFAIK

There ya go. They work great for dusty roads. My air filter was barely dirty after the Moab trip. Moab has moondust that gets everywhere.Normally just called a prefilter AFAIK
Ah, gotcha. That's what I was thinking...the UFO snorkel head. I just recently switched back to a paper filter from a K&N and now I want to get one of those. Keep my air nice and clean!Works really well. Catches an insane amount of dirt. I think @thekidcatcher is running his full time now. I just run mine when I'm offroad.

next time in dusty conditions, I will place panty hose over the intake tube, grandpa/unkle would do this to thier tractors filters/intakes all the time when it was very dry conditions. Panty hose, an extra prescreen filter, often used and recycled, old farts found uses for everything back in days.
Your grandpa is your uncle? That's neat. You are from Arkansas, I knew it.
Nah, I've got blue eyesFull blooded Germans, they'd kill you if they could.
Correct 'and' instead of /
