Well I have a slight drip from the cooler. Apparently I didn't get one of the fittings as tight as required. I am waiting for it to all cool down and I'll pull it and fix it.
Yes, out of the cooler there is a temp sensor for fan control but after that its all barbed fittings. I didn't have the fitting going into the temp sensor tight enough and its mounted down low and hard to get wrenches on so I pulled it out. Tightened it all up. Seems to have worked.
Actually... I may be able to fix this sensor. Seems the small brass piece threads into the aluminum housing and it was backed out about 1/4 turn. I think if I can make it stay put once its tightened in it won't leak. But I'm losing patience so I'll fuck with it later.
Edit: I used some red loctite and threaded it in nice and tight. Letting it setup now. I doubt I'll install it today though unless I get a boost of "give a fucks".
@Silverback Any updated on this? Can you post part #'s too? I'm interested in doing this in the future. I never thought of adding a fan to the tranny cooler but it's a damn good idea.
No real updates. Its been running very cool (maxes out at 180) and I haven't finished wiring up the fan on the cooler. I plan to do that this weekend. But just the cooler alone is enough for 99% if the time is my guess.
I will look up the part number when I get home. I can't seem to locate it.
Exactly right Chris. I had just taken a photo of the box when I read your post. That't it! Just make sure that stupid little sending units screwed in tight.
Also, after mine was installed I painted the silver frame satin black using some chassis and rollbar paint from VHT. Not as noticeable through the grill any more.
So an update to the temps. Today it was pretty warm out.. mid 90's I'd guess. I drove around for about an hour and a half in stop and go traffic. On the way to the house after all was said and the temp gauge was at 150.
Oh and another minor update. The PIAA horns are fucking awesome. HIGHLY recommended. Fuck those Hella ricey POS. Only thing I don't care for is the chrome label on the front of each. I'll eventually peal that off or paint it.
